100

So I was doing a 100 on the fast lane of the Federal Highway earlier.

Dad: Slow down lah...
Me: maintains speed, as I was trying to keep up with the car ahead of me
Dad: Later… you’ll see one sign.
Me: *mutter*Yeah I will alright.mutter

-SPEED LIMIT 80kmph sign appeared-
Dad: There..you shouldn’t go over lah. Slow down lah.

I then slowed down a bit and switched to center. I seriously wonder the purpose of a fast lane if 80’s the max. A bit too slow, no? >.< I’m not trying to sound like a reckless speeder but some cars on the middle lane are extremely slow. It’s a straight road. All the way. Sigh.

Exactly a week ago, on Sunday, I went with my family to Aquaria or something near KLCC. With Brandon’s friend, David, also a Down Syndrome kid.

I’ve no idea what made me agree to go there, but good freaking lord the queue. It was like half a kilometre long, seriously, from the counter it snaked around PAST the freaking car park. Jesus. And person-in-charge told us we have to wait for TWO hours. Joy!

It turns out to be an hour wait, so kay. Went in. Lots of fishies. Thank god David didn’t run around like a kid on loose in some toy museum.

I’m not exactly a fan of fish. The amount of fishes were tremendous, of various shapes, sizes, colours; there was this fish that has a horn on his head. There was also a display of tarantulas, lots of reptiles actually. So much for “Aquaria”.

We had to pay RM20 per head (promotion ended on that day, same with hols, which is why I suppose the queue was freaking long). In fact, there was this semi-circular tunnel, with a moving horizontal elevator that brings you around as you stare at the sharks, stingrays and whatnot.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have went in if not because of my family. Apparently Aquaria is the largest in the world in terms of displaying fish or something, from the newspaper I read.

David came from a poor family, and thus, ate a lot whenever he went for a sleepover at our house. The night before that trip, I was online till 3am or so working on my article to send to my Editor. He appeared from my bro’s room, rubbed his eyes, and entered my room.

I went =___________=. Followed him. I turned on my air-con before so my room was cold, and my bro didn’t, so I supposed David wanted to saviour it or something. Turned on the lights for him, he put down his specs (yes, he wore one, like my bro) on my bed’s table, and cuddled himself in my comforter. Ah, so sweet. For some reason I pitied him. I remembered hearing from my parents – or reading, I can’t recall which – that DS kids have generally a short lifespan.

Sigh.

If only they were normal. Screw fucking extra chromosome and nature’s fucking joke.

But they seem so happy in their own little world. My bro and his obsession on cars. And Cartoon Network. Innocent kids.

haha my bro got probs eating. refuse to eat anything other than porridge n cereal which is why his growth is soo stunted.

My auntie, who had like 3-4 pregnancy probs before discovered her foetus or whatever stage it was at has DS, and aborted the baby.

Lots of ethical issues lah blahblah but raising a DS child is difficult. Must have lots of patience. But <3 me annoying bro.
