1000th

I am unbelievably busy this week and the next so I’ll keep this entry short. I couldn’t actually recall the last time I ever felt this.. tremendously tied down with things – everyday is a to-do list to be completed, an assignment to complete, a homework to do, a test to study for. Yet I’ve yet to actually start working on the latter – my tests are approaching rapidly and I felt as if I don’t really know anything. Haven’t we all felt that way?

I am Jack’s pituitary gland in overdrive. And I am working hard to keep my sanity in check.

Project 365 #37: Sunday, 22nd March 2009

These cables actually arrived on Saturday in a package. They’re for my handphone so that I can output video (or Internet, pictures, anything really) to the telly and charge it at the same time! This will DEFINITELY come in handy during holidays, movie nights with friends, entertaining myself in Melbourne (if I can really go there, more on this later), etc.

Project 365 #38: Monday, 23rd March 2009

At that corner lot Chinese restaurant that has recently been undergoing a “rebranding” exercise and changed its name (and possibly ownership) from Success.. to something else that’s harder to remember.

Eating lunch together.

“Healthy Curry Chicken Rice”. Mine was RM3.20 large – it tasted reasonably good for that kinda price.. plus it wasn’t THAT spicy at all. =) The reassurance of “no milk” is a huge plus as well.

On the way back home from college (mum picked me up), spotted this accident along a stretch of road (in between USJ 2 and USJ 5, where a tree had fallen recently).

Project 365 #39: Tuesday, 24th March 2009

Ate at the market of SS15 – very cheap zhap fan, and that drink of mine in a bowl was only RM1 (forgot the exact Chinese term, but it has cendol and um.. some beans wtf. Sorry, I clearly suck in remember food-related details).

Project 365 #40: Wednesday, 25th March 2009

I like this shot for some reason – snapped after our VL’s (visiting lecturer) class of either Macro2 and IME. Despite this having occurred just yesterday, I’m unable to recall it can you believe it. :( That shows my current schedule is so tight that I have my days all mixed up and confused – it feels as if this entire week is one long consecutive day. (Also, the same VL taught us both subjects.)

Meet Manda (girl on the left), Rebecca’s best friend. She’s a very interesting and awe-inspiring person with rock solid character – when she came to our college, she kept looking around and told us wistfully how she missed college life. She’s only 23 (turning 24 this November), yet she already has a string of achievements in her hands: already completed her Masters, is working in a multi-national company, and.. is already married. WTF. (No not because of ‘accidents’ and whatnot.)

She also gave us pretty solid advice based on her experiences and what she knows from her husband’s involvement in business studies as well – and only then did I realise that there’s a startlingly huge difference between an Honours degree and a non-Honours, which prompted me to contemplate seriously whether to really take it up or not.

At night during my French class, there was only Ed, me, and Levy. An hour into the class, Ed left, leaving only me and Levy.. and that was when I found out that she actually belongs to a choir group who sings in KLPac, which was also why she probably could no longer make it for the Wednesday class as it clashes with her rehearsals (it also clashes with Monday’s French class as well). We talked a fair bit after class, and she really is a down-to-earth person.

But on the way back, despite the fact that I’ve been using the same road for the last 3 months or so from Segambut back to Subang (plus I was on GPS mind you), miraculously I still managed to get lost. I was so engrossed listening to Michel Thomas from my iPod while I was driving that I completely missed a turn and I was like “Fuck”. I drove slowly while I waited for my GPS to re-route, then eventually I found myself at Bangsar and then Pantai Dalam.. and from there on, I made a turn when I wasn’t supposed to.

-___-

God seriously what’s with me and roads.

I also managed to end up at some TM building and its fairly eerie, dark backyard.

But long story short, I managed to find my way to the Federal Highway and would’ve reached home probably 20 minutes earlier if not for my minor misadventure. ‘twas fun in a strange way.

Project 365 #41: Thursday, 26th March 2009

Kenneth and I ate at the market for a very late lunch at around 3pm. And then it rained. Heavily. Imagine eating and having raindrops pouring all over you and your food despite having a roof of some sort over your head – evidently said roof probably wasn’t built to keep the water out. Thunder and lightning came rapidly every few seconds which was why in this pic you can see that Kenneth tries to shut some of that exploding noise out.

When the rain let up a little we ran all the way back to college, getting somewhat wet in the process though it wasn’t as worse as I thought.

At the resource centre. I personally love Personal Money now and its relative practicality in the real world.

Supposed to have an IFP class at 4.30pm, but even though we entered late at 5, our lecturer still had yet to arrive.. in fact he only did at 5.40pm-ish lmao. Apparently he was caught up in a meeting at Sunway Uni which was why he proposed before to combine both our tutorial classes to the Wednesday evening class, of which I was against as I have a French class at night, which would make my day very very long and trying again. I know this because I’ve attempted something like this before (read: previous French class at ICLS) and it was incredibly taxing. Obviously my Head of Department and Ms. Alison couldn’t wrap their minds around it and declared that my course was far more important and immediately pooh-poohed what I said – I, of course, really respect this IFP lecturer of mine so I’ve no qualms switching to said Wednesday class as I have an alternative day to go for my French class. I only wished they had more tact listening to what I had to say.

And guess what? This is my 1000th entry, which also takes into account all published posts including password-protected entries. Nearly 5 years on, after initially being inspired by a newspaper article on blogging at Section 2 of TheStar, I’ve come an incredibly loooonng way.. who would’ve thunk? Throughout the years, my writing skills gradually evolved, matured, became stale, then picked up again; plus it is precisely through this avenue that a snippet of my life has been made permanent – the tale of an explorer traversing through the universe, the world, and himself.

hahaha actually I did delibrately use ‘thunk’! :P it’s a very uncommon past tense and past participle of the word ‘think’ (yeah I looked up these technical explanations on google just for you :)).

my 5th year would be on the 31st may! not that far off now.

thanks! =) it was a sudden stroke of inspiration/boredom while waiting for some friends who were in the toilet after our VL.
