20 Nov 2007 9:34 pmEnd of exams commenced yesterday. :)
That means doing shitload of things I actually want to do without being bogged down by guilty feelings of not studying: playing Wii, DotA, read a book, catch a movie at a cineplex..
I actually done all the above on the day my last paper (Accounting 100) ended (okay, maybe not DotA). Celebratory mood is in order, so I went with a few collegemates to Sunway Pyramid to dine specifically at Rainforest Bristo; we were conned of our money weeks ago to purchase coupons for specific use at this place -___- Some more tell us can redeem back our money which we found out that we couldn’t (although it was quite tai la in a way, buy 1 main course free 1 more main course wor (of equal or lesser price)).

Actually the place is a little dark even in the afternoon wtf. That’s Chai Huey, Andy, Pui Yan, and me.

Yeah we had beers too to complete this afternoon bar-cum-restaurant experience wtf (Happy Hour anyway).
The place is horribly small, we didn’t try sitting outside yet to gauge how big the place actually is, but my visions of actual animals lurking around (maybe in cages) were destroyed upon setting eyes on the place – no thanks to that chatty salesman who sold us the coupons who told us lots of wondrous things which all turned out to be false anyway.

This is Andy presenting his yummy Stuffed Irish Chicken, complete with curly fries (yum), rainbow rice (yuck – it’s just nasi briyani or something), and some really fresh vege.

Me and Chai Huey with our something Fried Seabass. It was actually good – the cream was delectable and best of all I didn’t laosai at all because of it (yah me and my lactose intolerance in case you forget).

Pui Yan said something funny and I had grinned involuntarily.

And this is Pui Yan with her something Spicy Chicken. The french fries that came with it were perfect, much better than McD’s (actually getting sick of anything McD’s already).
I don’t know if we came at the wrong time or its their practice to play 90s songs, but that’s exactly what they did, playing The Hansons (LOL I still remembered their band name but not their song title wtf), Backstreet Boys, Westlife, S Club 7.. you know, all those bands that used to be all the rage during our primary school days wtf (and I remember I kena ejek last time for liking ABBA wtf).

Sigh horrible angle etc, damn hard to take a photo using self-timer by placing a camera dangling precariously on top of another camera which is on top of an ashtray wtf. Yeah this is our group pic. <3
Went to catch Beowulf after that – we missed the first 5 minutes but no matter anyway since the entire movie was just meh. I echo other reviewers’ comments that the movie would have been much better if it’s done without the computer-generated graphics, but gasp, I had expected our usually overtly stringent and snipping-happy censors to cut off any slight notice of nudity but guess what, Angelina Jolie’s full frontal (although this is CGI, but still...) remained perfectly intact for more than 10 seconds at a particular scene, Beowulf’s backside remained blissfully visible throughout a particular battle, and guess what our censors cut away? Foul language. WTF.
I seriously question their logic (people keep telling me these are all just CGI, but this IS a U-rated movie after all), but what am I ranting about? Probably Malaysia’s first infant step into a censor-free movie world.
Salute.
After that we departed, Andy and I walked around for a bit at Pyramid’s new wing, and when Fangki phoned me, met up with him at Jusco’s food court and later on, Wai Hong and their colleague, Sheryl. All of them are working at the new wing’s G2000.
Went out to yumcha at about 9.30pm to OldTaste with Andy, Ding, and Jon till midnight. A taste at a slice of freedom.

mcb I damn damn hate people who post spoilers of movies/TV shows/books publicly on their MSN. And worst still is when this particular idiot scream it out on their MSN nickname (NOT personal message, mind you) by repeatedly signing in and off so that MSN can beep said spoilers with the offender’s display picture next to it. I DON’T WANT TO FUCKING KNOW ABOUT HEROES EP 9 BECAUSE I HAVEN’T WATCH IT CAN OR NOT.
Geez what a spoilsport (no pun intended). I had to resort to blocking this particular person.
The last time something similar like this happened was with Harry Potter’s book 5 when someone major died, and suffice to say I was majorly displeased.

Laos. Exactly 2 weeks from now, and for some reason I’m feeling the same butterflies and fear even though this time I’d be flying with Siew Kiat (and not alone as before when I went to Cambodia).
What on earth am I fearing about? Almost a month abroad on a foreign land with very limited supplies and possibly cut away from all things modern (read: Internet, handphones, Wii) – I don’t really fear facing that. Maybe I’m fearing possible accidents that may occur, and I’m not really usually pessimistic – no thanks to some of my friends, who said something about when they reach Langkawi and I wasn’t there yet, they might receive a phone call asking “Are you friends or relatives of Clement Chan?” wtf such good friends I have.
I thought my previous backpacking experience would cut away this silly bundle of nerves, but I guess maybe I’m just nervously excited.
