Absolut Kurantice

Last two nights on Saturday, there was a CNY gathering over at my house since my parents apparently were feeling bored and have nothing better to do (really). So invited everyone I can think of, and the house was a massive congregation of lively noises.

Before that at almost 5pm, went to Court 8 and swam with Daniel, Wai Hong and Eugene. We’ve always wanted to swim in the extremely chlorinated water just to douse and immerse ourself in its relaxing properties, and there, we had it. We fooled around in there, the most disgusting thing of all had to be spitting water at each other (looking back it was rather revolting, hehe).

An hour later, we went back to Eugene’s house to rest for a bit while he showered, which is when rain started lashing about like an angry little storm. We got ourselves completely drenched just trying to get into the car.

Got back home, bathed, etc. Angela came first, followed by Andy, then the rest started to come.

Earlier on I surfed for recipes to concoct a homemade cocktail with my Absolut Kurant vodka; there were plenty of ‘em but the simpler ones I took and self-improvise.

Us doing the mixing. Had to experiment several times before we got the taste we wanted. A generous helping of Absolut Kurant + 7-Up Ice + Giant’s Apple Juice = Absolut Kurantice! (Pic from Angela).

Blur, bleh. Picture snapped by Chee Ming (unsure of spelling, so said spelling will be used throughout the entry, if any). From left to right: Sarah, me, Wai Hong, Angela, Kai Tzin, Daniel, Eugene and Andy.

We had dinner: asam laksa and chicken wings. Yum.

Gambled here and there, nothing much. My mum fancied giving angpows in lucky draws, so…

The ones who got above RM10 in angpows. Gosh.

Ah what happy times. Ju-lien and her sis (unfortunately mistaken for a boy multiple times) were there too.

All of us watched Toy Story on DVD, heh.

Kai Tzin looked so red!

Cuteeeeeee! Pic taken from Angela’s cam.

We finally went to Shawn’s house at about 11.30pm plus. I fetched Angela back to her house and we picked up Kai Shen at Adrian’s on the way. More gambling ensued till 1.30am plus, went to Tanjung, and then back home again at 2.30am.

I’ve been out daily since Monday (2nd day of CNY) up to around 3am. Crazy. =___=

Group pics when we gambled at Jess’ mini-casino last few nights ago, from Wai Hong’s camera:

After mixing enough with Daniel and Wai Hong who both extend a healthy mix of Jay Chou’s songs to me, and after looking at the translation of lyrics, I think I’m a renewed fan. That purchased Qi Li Xiang album which is now collecting dust..maybe I should start dusting it away.

At this point I regretted not taking up any Mandarin classes seriously last time.

Beautiful, poetic lyrics adorn the many songs from Jay Chou who can cleverly execute them whether in ballads or in R&B. Might consider getting his new album too, November’s Chopin (which is already a few months old). >_>

Edit: The above banner with the Chinese characters reflect the pinyin of “ji guan lue duo tian bian”, which, if the translation is correct and to be believed, means “the aurora steals the horizon”, which I thought was incredibly beautiful. It’s taken from the song ? (Feng) (Maple).

The beauty of languages transcend every cultural barrier. Which reaffirm my interest in them.
