1 Oct 2006 5:32 pmI’m sitting in front of my collegemate’s - Ah Chong, as Andy and I call him as a term of endearment - Samsung SyncMaster793DF monitor. I’m sitting here, on his black wooden chair, a little tired out from my little solo travel alone to KL.
Turns out it wasn’t that easy after all. :/
Earlier in the afternoon (Sunday) Heng phoned me, asking if we’d like to join them for lunch but unfortunately both Andy and I have already eaten. Shawn picked us up, then the four of us headed for Tien Tien Fatt.
Went to Summit too to get my DS pouch as Shawn supposedly know the owner of two of the game shops, Leon, over there. Leon wasn’t there though, so we (more like Shawn) haggled and I got the price of my semi-OK thick, black made-in-China DS pouch. It wasn’t exactly what I want but it would suffice since I don’t bring it out of the house that often these days anyway.
BUT anyway went to Shawn’s house to play mahjong! Huhu my luck was unbelievably great. I won from the first round with the minimum 5 points (and occasionally 7, or 9) against Heng and Andy about 3-4 times in a row. Heng and Andy won back once each, but I made successive small wins that prove the Malay adage of “sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit” true.
So Heng left the table, as Jen, Shawn’s cousin, wanted to play. I continued winning, and as Shawn’s mum, and Shawn’s aunt joined the table, I felt quite intimidated. o__o AHAHAHA I CONTINUED WINNING WTF SO UNBELIEVABLE SYOKNYER GOT ONE TIME DUNNO PLAY WITH WHO WON WITH TAI SAM YUN.
Ahem anyway yeah I got back exactly RM10.20 after losing a round of “adult rate” of about RM1.50 total, which pretty much covered what I lost on Friday. :)
So my parents fetched me to the Subang Jaya KTM Station where I reached at almost 9pm. After waiting for a while, whipped out my DS to play Sonic Rush a bit to pass the time.
I felt a slight tinge of relief, yet, I didn’t exactly feel excited, save for the notion of sitting Bryan’s car to Genting. I dunno, a one-day trip to Genting feels meh, especially since we’re going for the Outdoor theme park rides. -___-
Anyhow, instead of easy rides to the Maluri Star LRT station, I made about 3 or 4 train hops overall. :/ How terribly inconvenient. In fact, at Chan Sao Lin (sp?) station where we have to switch trains, I walked to the next train already waiting for us, and after looking around uncertainly, I walked out again to have a look at the signs at the platform to determine whether I was indeed at the right station. Then. The familiar beeping sounds bleeped and doors began to close. -____- That set me back for a good 4 minutes huhu.
After waiting for a bit at the Maluri station, Chong finally arrived in his manual Saga and brought me to his house. It was what almost I expected: his marble tiles are shiny and seemed polished, his living room was very spacious, and overall it emanated a comfortable place to live in.
And here I am, in front of the Samsung monitor, a Peterpan song of “Aku Dan Bintang” cooing softly from the nearby Sonic Gear speakers. An “Accounting in Australia 5th Edition” rather thick book sat below the monitor. The small round, silver clock next to the speaker is displaying 1.17am as I type, in all its analogue glory.
The soft purring of the CPU fan was one of the two only things that detract what would otherwise be an absolute silence. The noisy tip-tapping of this delicate Compaq keyboard was the same as well.
The only source of light was the white cylindrical tub of light just above the monitor on the left, inches away. The computer is near the staircase, outside several rooms and a toilet, similar to how many other people place their computers at similar spots.
I’m staring at a silver/glassy mini-pagoda just above my head, covered in shadows; the bunch of business-related books on the shelef above the PC; the brown, small model of a monstrous-looking dog sitting above the speaker.
I enjoy being in the company of two to about four. Somehow any above that, maybe even at a maximum of 6, seems a little difficult, a little suffocating to speak. I sometimes feel most at peace, drowning in the peace and quiet of the midnight, simply by typing away on this blog.
I have a car to catch in about 7 hours time. Lowering down my expectations of the Genting trip to zero. Time to play a little bit of DS before I succumb to my head’s call for sleep.
