saigoheiki.com is currently under major reconstruction while I migrate from Textpattern to WordPress, due to useability issues, much as I love and had gotten used to TXP. It will be an inconvenient truth, but I’ll be serving several upgrades to the site throughout next few days, hopefully keeping it as minimal as possible.

Finally done with the major redesign, customizations took me hours (the entire Sunday afternoon and evening completely wasted away), but I’m quite happy with the outcome. Should there be any bugs or anything that’s not working as it’s supposed to, do notify me about it.
Entry title was in reference to the movie An Inconvenient Truth, which I’ve just watched with Andy and Ding on Friday afternoon (on pirated DVD, no doubt, having bought that at Summit on the same day). Seeing that Ding finished his exam on that day, we went all the way to Klang to eat bak kut teh at the same exact restaurant as we went the other day (with my collegemates) for brunch. Exciting.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect of the movie, since it was supposed to be an Oscar-winning documentary (how interesting can a documentary get?). Images of prancing tigers gobbling up deers ala Discovery Channel came to mind, but An Inconvenient Truth isn’t anything like it. With Al Gore being the main narrator (and character, so to speak), we were gently led through the story of our planet – with a touch of humour to attract further attention – before we were plunged into facts after facts on our apparently dying Earth.
It’s a huge wake up call, a slap to the face – because if nothing is being done to the global warming currently invading our world day to day, we’ll wake up to maps being redrawn, countries annihilated by super strong hurricanes and floods and droughts, and ever-increasing temperature, and all because superpower countries like America and Australia refuse to help combat the problem citing economical reasons, and at the same, contribute more pollution that eventually damages the Earth in the long run.
Global warming is rather political really. While I know I’m starting to sound like one of them environmentalists you read in newspapers or hear on the telly, it’s one huge inconvenient truth that none of us can really avoid – so visit climatecrisis.net or watch An Inconvenient Truth, and learn what you can do so you don’t actually die 30 years from now.
