Bawang Putih Bawang Merah

So I’m taking a time out of talking to myself in front of the laptop to ready myself for the upcoming debate this Thursday.

Presentations are so not my forte. The fact that I’m doing rebuttal makes it worse since I literally have to make up my points and present on the spot. (Actually my opponents and my team did collaborate in which we sent each other our own points so that those doing rebuttal would be better prepared :D Lecturer didn’t say we couldn’t do this heh.)

I can write but not speak dammit. Even though I may feel ready and confident, but when the time comes to talk in front of 1000000 20 people, I stutter and shiver and basically screw up royally. Hell I’m not doing so bad now I guess.

Since I have zilch pictures to present to any of you, I hope you won’t be deterred from reading this entry because something embarrassing occurred over the weekends. But am I going to tell you? Nehnehbubu get me drunk first only I tell you!

haha wtf I’m just kidding so don’t entertain any thoughts of poisoning me with alcohol.

What else to talk about.

Oh I’ve been procrastinating a lot lately, but only in really simple matters like taking a shower. I would say, “OK after I check my mails I’ll shower” and after visiting about 20 different sites for more than an hour, I decided to bathe. Then Jon’s MSN would pop up and ask “WANNA ENFO?” and I’d say “YES!” and I’d play with him for another hour. Then it’d be time for dinner and I’d go downstairs and eat while reading newspapers for the next 30 minutes. Then I’ll go back to my online mode and starting surfing until I reluctantly decide to shower. Which means I put off showering for about 5 hours heh.

All that happened today by the way, and I’ve just finished showering so I very well know what I’m talking about.

I’m actually wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt that has a sexy U-curve tear right down to my chest. I wouldn’t want to think how old the tee is, but it’s one of those horribly shabby clothes that is so comfortable you wouldn’t want to throw it away, that, I think, would suit a beggar more by the looks of it.

And there’s this piece of news I have to put up here. My youngest brother, Brandon, now has a favourite TV show, and it’s no longer just cartoons, cartoons, and Cartoon Network.

It’s called Bawang Putih Bawang Merah. WTF is that, you ask in amazement, and wonder if it’s a cook show starring an onion and a ginger?

Jengjengjeng.

It’s an Indonesian drama series WTF!! It’s from 2.30pm to 3.30pm on TV3 on every weekday, and zomg, my brother would lie down on the floor in front of the telly and take the Astro remote control hostage so that no one else can disturb his viewing pleasure (never mind that he doesn’t understand Indonesian.. I think). -___-

Need I remind you that my dear brother has Down’s Syndrome, and the fact that he can navigate through the Astro channels all by himself is a testament to the fact that he takes over the intelligence of his eldest brother *coughcough*. And I’m not sure if he knows how to read the clock or not (I doubt it), but he’d press the Info button on the Astro remote to check from time to time if his favourite Indonesian series is coming up soon or not (you know.. there will be two programme slots, one with information of the current show, and another slot with information on the next show).

Like seriously, I kid you not.

The funniest thing was that even my kakak was saying that particular show was lame. It has very cheesy Indonesian dialogues and predictable plot which I am not proficient in the language enough to remember all to include here. The only few things I remembered was, there’s a fairy called Puteri, a murder, and a scapegoat heh.

Our kakak prefers Wah Lai Toi shows from 8.30pm to 10.30pm heheh, like the silai with his golden hour in USJ 1.

And Brandon was ecstatic today when he got my old E398 (it was returned back to us when it was ‘beyond repair’). He kept saying “handphone baru!” and was so proud of it that he showed it to the two Malay kids staying next door whom we called abang and adik. Because one’s an elder brother and the other’s younger. >_> (Apparently abang and adik showed Brandon their new handphones recently and Brandon wanted a new handphone too lol.)

No more funny anecdotes I can think of. Back to work.

i’m wearing a mickeymouse shirt too. =.=

okay, nevermind.

the ‘debate opening’ of your post reminded me of the time i was doing rebuttal few years back. Took down all the opponents points and all and even felt the rare thing called confidence. When it came to my turn, i stood up, took a deeeeep breath blablabla and opened my mouth to speak.

and then there was silence all around. =.=’‘

Funny, i think i’ve read somewhere that the bawang show has a huge following. Anyway, good luck with the debate!

jess: er LOL don’t la terasa I never implied the silai was you.. haha actually I forgot you watch wah lai toi shows too (oklah to be fair I watch 8.30-9.30pm shows but only on very rare occasions like during my super late dinner).

kaitzin: Aunty Jessica haha!!

Stephanie: hehe you don’t wanna see my mickey shirt.. it can be a rag cloth edi only that I dowan to part with it if not got lesser clothes to wear at home huhu.

hehe debate can be really scary, but because I was nervous it makes my thoughts and mouth not coordinate with each other.. dunnolah hard to explain but if you ask me to write down debate points I can do that 20x better than speaking it out swt.

rebuttals are the best part of the debate, hoho high-five! I tore my opponents’ points apart lol (thanks to my groupmates too who helped me out).

That bawang show.. er I dunno what’s so nice about it! Maybe it’s like a silai show back in Indonesia haha..
