I had a birthday dinner with my family at Agefuku Taipan – it was a little pricey, but the food was reasonable enough and service was good – we were even given angpows (that contained 30sen wtf so kedekut) and Mandarin oranges.
I also had a birthday dinner on Saturday with my friends as many couldn’t make it on the actual day (Friday) itself due to work commitments etc, and so, after deliberating for a few days earlier in the week whether to have it at SS2 Murni or a Chinese restaurant at USJ21, I settled for the latter.
Most of them kumpul-ed at my house first at around 7.30pm-ish while it was still raining, and later on we departed for the restaurant where Angela was already waiting there since 7.30pm sharp.

Jess was holding a paper for a food set costing RM388.88 or RM488.88 wtf wanting to order that. They weren’t the ones paying.. >_>

RB, Ding, Mei Yee.

Esther, Mr. Chan (wtf now I really feel old to be called that way), Angela.

Heng, Esther, me, Angie.

Story behind this picture was funny at that time: Shawn was talking to the waitress but as he was doing so, he kept posing for this picture and talked to her at the same time.. also notice the menu he was holding (yeah I asked him to order for us since I suck in ordering especially at Chinese restaurants).

Ding and Mei Yee. Few days before dinner:
Ding: “Can I bring Mei Yee to your dinner?”
Me: “Can, pay RM20 per head wtf.”

Pouring ice and tea for each other.

Angie and Andy.

“SEK AHH!!” First dish was dried curry pai kuat (bottom right of pic), and in no correct order, followed by kankung belacan (very large plate), taufu in claypot, steamed egg, Hokkien mee, and lemon chicken <3. Kai Tzin came quite late but we, being such good friends, saved some from each dish for him. Like seketul from each dish wtf.
It was so good to have a gathering of our extended family (as Jess likes to put it that way) at a Chinese restaurant for the first time ever. Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve never had gatherings or dinners for occasions at Chinese restaurants – it was usually done with the family and relatives. And when we have gatherings, they were all usually at mamaks, fast food joints or Western/European restaurants.
And Esther was sighing and pondering as well over the big If, that in the future if we already have our boyfriends and girlfriends and have such a gathering at Chinese restaurants in the future, the partners will sit at a separate table ahahahaha while the Family sits at another one. And right after the final word escaped from her mouth, she turned around and glanced at Mei Yee and cupped her mouth in horror at her mistake LOL and apologised profusely.

Restaurant Tong Chou, USJ21. Very nice food, decent price (total bill came to about RM171 – there was no service charge as well) and quite ‘healthy’ according to my parents – they didn’t use the usual Hokkien noodles thingy for the Hokkien mee dish, but the Japanese udon as it was freer from chemicals or something.

Ya allah seriously, ugliest group picture ever. Stupid motorbike was blocking too.
We parted ways and went to Shawn’s house after that – Angie and Mei Yee had to go home (and we came in so many cars – about 4 or 5 I think, another fine point for reminiscing as we used to car pool into one when not many people have their driving licenses yet). The other cars were also tagging along Daniel’s car to Mei Yee’s house wtf while Andy (who was driving) and I went straight for Shawn’s.
We gambled – Shawn won about RM100+ huhuhu.

Group picture with the Family and Shawn’s parents before Esther and Kai Tzin went off first to go clubbing.

Another pic. <3
I also received the following:
- dark blue Nike DryFit shirt from Shawn, Andy, Heng, and Jess
- cute huggable pillow from Angie
- red wine from RB which we opened at Shawn’s
- one complimentary voucher “for one hour usage of computer” at FTZ ASIA.Net wtf from Ding
It was a brilliant night – couldn’t have asked for more, even if we did went back home before 12am which was early by our standards. That, and receiving presents is always good. =)
And because I couldn’t bear to wake up at 6am later for my incredibly boring 8am lecture and spoil my weekend mood, with my parents’ blessing I’ve decided to skip it. :D
