Went with Andy yesterday evening at 5pm plus to cut hair at Snips Taipan. It was also the first time that I have a hairstylist that actually bothered to engage a bloody long conversation with me, since my Cantonese wasn’t up to par to do any meaningful chatting, but Chris, the dude who cut, or rather, styled, my hair, did so.
As usual he asked what hairstyle I wanted, so I said ‘short and spiky’, but he began his explanations on why I shouldn’t do so convincingly, saying that my face is long blablabla therefore need to keep my hair long and stuffs. Other than his multitude of hairstyling lingos in Cantonese, mentioning stuffs like Level 7, yu tao, etc, he was a pretty friendly guy. I’m not that good at doing small talks in a language I’m not familiar with, especially with strangers - in fact, he was the one who did most of the talking - but we eventually got to the clich?d topic of ‘where do you live’ and discovered that he stays at Court 9.
He also insisted that I dye my hair, while also assuring me that it won’t turn out to be lala-ish (whoa, and here I thought all male hairstylists with funky hairstyles are lala), since I don’t necessary have to subject my hair to violent colours like purple and red and pink. He mentioned something about light brown, and a wider terminology of styles in Cantonese, but doh the cost of dying hair would be too high anyway, so it’s best to leave my hair perfectly Asian black.
I’d go on and on about how he described to me how my hair is rough, or made a comparison between Asian hair, Western hair, and a fish, or other even more mildly interesting topics but the fact that he took an hour to do my hair is a bit mind-boggling. Maybe because he had to wash my hair too much - twice. Or maybe because he was comfortable and friendly enough to say that if ever he was bored, he’d like to go to the cybercafe behind my house with me. To CS. @___@
Yeah, anyway, in the end after styling my hair for 10-15 minutes with wax or mud (I normally took 1 quick minute), my hair looks about the same, even though he did cut here and there. It was RM25 + 5 for the shampoo (wtf, shouldn’t wash my hair next time, or I should bring my own shampoo =.=), but since we’re students and all, I’ve a 15% discount till RM25.30. Huhu. For a junior cut. Andy’s senior cut was around RM40ish.
Friday was also officially Yen’s birthday where Shawn’s family celebrated at Logenhaus Taipan, but yesterday, we celebrated it again over a dinner at Chili’s 1Utama with Shawn and Pam.
Shawn invited me to join them over MSN, and being a little too free on Saturday nights I agreed. They came in a grey Myvi to pick me up, then off we merrily went our way after debating whether to go to Las Carretas Taipan, or Chili’s.

Can’t remember the exact name of the chips, but it’s bottomless. Meaning you can refill ‘em as much as you want to your hearts content. Even the drinks - depending which - are bottomless! Three of our drinks were juices, and Yen’s was a Sprite.

ZOMG this is the 1000th image to ever appear on this site, what a landmark! (not counting the few disappearing images due to technical errors) In other news, this is the Triple Play dish.

I can’t remember what dish this actually is, but the potato was reportedly thick, creamy, and sinful.

Shawn licked his plate clean - almost literally.

Pam took the photo; we enjoyed the meal obviously.

The complimentary brownie for the birthday girl.

The bill we racked up. Yen said I don’t need to pay since I didn’t eat much, but I felt like vomiting positively, after eating dinner at home, and eating more and more bottomless chips and drinking 3-4 mugs of juices, I felt the fullest I’ve ever been in months.
We left for (Shawn’s) home at 11pm, picking up a just-woken-up Heng from his house, and played exciting rounds of mahjong at student rate. Lama tak main tangan gatal doh.
After we played till 2.30am, with Yen finally retiring an hour and a half ago and replaced by Shawn, we then invited Andy out for a drink. After ditching ideas of the usual mamaks Tanjung and Syed Ariff, we finally settled for the 24 hours A&W near 3K, following Andy’s idea.
It was quite a sight as there were still a number of people up and awake - even one or two kids running around like it was in the evening. We sat there, laughed, chit-chatted (“gu kuu kuu kuuu!!”, bloody Shawn’s Doraemon voice after peeking into Andy’s handphone), and I finally reached home at 4.30am.

- demands a string of hearts, several seasoned travellers, and two pairs of sloppy sandals. More »

Saki: Ahh.. I see. Yeah I can see how it’s funny. :p
ozzie: Huhu don’t underestimate me when it comes to eating! :p I can eat a lot when I want to, it’s just that usually I don’t like spending too much on food since my entire idea of it is eat + shit comes out. get what i mean? :P But of course la, sometimes have to treat myself to nice nice food, in which case I don’t mind spending extra. I think I’m spending a lot on food as well these days..
Buffet’s an exception though hehe. Eat all you want!
oooh when I have a special someone finally you’ll get to know it on this blog. ;) probably not anytime soon. kua.
so you like typical males minus the shopping? ;P

no no. i like it when guys can shop. tell my boyf to shop with me and he stays outside the shop instead of coming in and make that “i really hate this” look. annoys the crap out of me.
he’s going to shop for his own stuff next time, because if i live with him, there is NO WAY i am going to shop for his stuff just because he doesn’t like shopping.

ohhh i get what you mean. I don’t fancy shopping with girls too, had enough experiences when going out with girl-friends. :p I don’t mind going into the shop to wait though, it’s the waiting to try pair after pair of clothes and finally not buying anything that gets into me. >_>
i guess that’s what you meant by typical earlier. :p

the clothes must fit me mah!
but i never go clothes shopping with my boyf. usually just books and other stuff like that. meh, he hasn’t been out with me for ages anyway. i’m sure you guys try stuff that you don’t like too!
i haven’t shopped for clothes in soooo long. just can’t be bothered anymore. you know how they are layering clothes nowadays? i just wear my old clothes on top of my old clothes. mwahaha.

haha good idea! won’t work in Malaysia though.. would drown in my sweat within minutes of setting foot out under the hothothothothothot sun. :P
No money lor if keep shopping for clothes lol. I usually just wait for some huge sale to come and buy them. Even so.. I don’t buy that many anyway, so you can see me reusing the same tees or pants sometimes. :p
Well, yeah.. got try stuffs that I don’t like, but I don’t take that long to decide not to buy. XD
