On the exact date of my birthday on Sunday, I went with my family to The Curve for a low-key double birthday celebrations for me and my bro (in case you don’t know, I share the same birth date with my bro, a definite rare coincidence as my parents had certainly better things to do then decide to coincide the pregnancies with the same birth date wtf).

This quartet was singing and playing acoustic songs of many popular numbers, presumably their own interpretation of the songs and they were all very pleasant-sounding and awfully relaxing. Of notable interest is their rendition of Jason Mraz’s Lucky and I’m Yours. Could’ve sat there and listened till they finish their repertoire.. but I had things to do back home.

My family eating at Bubba Gump, whose speciality is in shrimps.. and they kept playing Forrest Gump on the telly (no I’ve not watched the flick before) – not sure if the name Bubba Gump arose from the movie that made the owners of this restaurant wanting to use it, or if shrimps were prominently featured in that movie or not..
In any case, this eatery has a pretty interesting concept in the form of a small metallic stand placed on a table with two different ‘cards’ – Run, Forrest, Run; and Stop, Forrest, Stop (if I’m recalling this correctly). Basically if we wanted to call for the servers to come, we merely had to turn the ‘card’ to display Stop, Forrest, Stop.

My parents’ rather funky drink, of which they weren’t aware was alcoholic.. <_< hence the extremely expensive price of about RM20.

My scrumptious fish + shrimps. Too bad about the extremely tricky lighting – I couldn’t even correct the white balance in my computer. This delicious dish was about RM20-30.
Overall it’s a pretty interesting place to dine with a palatable selection of mostly shrimps and fish, although it’s unlikely I’d return except during special occasions due to the fairly steep prices.
We walked around briefly before heading back.

Thanks Joe – I was left completely euphoric after our 2-hour chat on MSN till about 4am plus yesterday.
And to you too, Tomoko, whom I was talking to for 2 hours as well on Gmail just a few moments ago.
