12 Apr 2010 7:10 pmThe yumcha we had at McDonald’s last Friday night could easily constitute as one of the best I had in the longest while. For one, we were seated indoors in an environment devoid of the cigarette smoke that often found its way into my lungs in places like Tanjung, and nearly everyone was actually there—nearly everyone being those who are currently in Subang and not out of state or out of the country: me, Ding, Andy, Sarah, and Shawn.
Hilariously, we went first towards the direction of Asia Cafe at SS15 on the noble grounds that we should “try some place new”. Clearly that backfired when we couldn’t find a parking space in that jam-packed space after making three rounds, and even so, Asia Cafe was packed to the brim. We thought of trying the lorong mamak too, but again there wasn’t any parking at all and we didn’t want to risk Ding’s car being fined by the police (whom we saw was hard at work near Starbucks) and so in the end we left and went to A&W instead.
No… parking… too. lmao.
At this point we were all laughing at our predicament (except for Ding who was driving lol), and in the end we just decided on McDonald’s Taipan instead, where we stayed till 1am+.
And then the next day at 7pm, Ding fetched me, Sarah, and Sarah’s friend (shit forgot his name briefly) to Shabu-Shabu Puchong, as she was treating us for obtaining her first pay. =D Andy and Shawn came by themselves, but Shawn was the latest and only arrived when we were almost full.

Mmm pork slices.

Andy and Sarah.

Me, Ding, and Shawn wtf.

Ding and Sarah comparing skin colour hahahaha.
(In case you’re wondering about this post’s title, it’s an inside joke as Ding kept asking if Andy wanted more of the celery each time it passes by on the conveyor belt hahaha.)
After we ended our dinner session at about 10.30pm (nearly 3 hours wtf), I sat in Andy’s car, and as Shawn wants to be fetched to his friend’s place in USJ 2 to pass some things for a bit, I followed and only arrived home at about 11.30pm.

So I’ve finally obtained my Platinum trophy for Final Fantasy XIII. It’s a silly achievement with no material reward whatsoever but damn was it satisfying. At the very least I got my money’s worth out of it (even though it was really a birthday present from Matt) after spending more than 86 hours to completely master the game.
I’ve recently started Grand Theft Auto IV (after completing the PSN game of Braid, which has a pretty unique storyline embedded beneath its “save-the-princess” surface, and that’s saying something for a 2D side-scrolling game ala Mario), and it was surprisingly good and rather addictive. I didn’t think I’d fancy it that much since it didn’t look like my kind of game, but I enjoyed doing the various missions to progress through the game, hijacking cars, and the vast open environment where I’m able to do anything I see fit. Even the online multiplayer is surprisingly enjoyable (played this a couple of months back), if not for the fact that the Wanted trophy is exceedingly time-consuming to obtain.
I’ve also started playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Re-Shelled, a PSN game that I downloaded off Matt, and have been playing on its online multiplayer a couple of times and it’s pretty reminiscent of its Genesis version, with prettier upgraded graphics to boot. :) I love co-op games, and it’s been a while since I’ve played one.
