Cheer for youths

Yesterday’s day out was.. alright. Went for Cheer, took 2 damn hours to reach Bukit Jalil when it takes like 3/4 of that time by car. Oh well.

Andy couldn’t make it at the last minute (citing parents), so in the end me and Heng went there together. The cheers from the various schools were mostly good (there are some sucky ones, from USJ13 I think), and after watching about 10 cheers onwards the novelty wears off. I had to change my contacts into wearing specs in the beginning as the bright lights of the stadium made my vision blurry. Bleh.

I sat together with Heng with the rest of the SriKLians above the Cyrens banner. The whole lot cheered and screamed a lot when the Cyrens appeared, to the point the Cheer 2005’s host, Channel V’s VJ Joey, came right up to us (there, could see his face better. Too bad didn’t think of snapping a photo with my cameraphone) and asked us some questions and to cheer again.

My good ol’ buddy from SMK Taman SEA spotted me from the center of the stadium (we were at the right side), so did Jon (whom I couldn’t find at all). Esther and Kai Shen were there as well, and they were all actually near to each other. Even Tomoko and Mei Ling, who were the nearest to Kai Shen, didn’t notice KS at all.

The highlight of the event was when Jaclyn Victor appeared and started singing. Gosh, the entire stadium went wild (the cheers were starting to bore us, except for some exceptionally good ones) and she started belting out an Alicia Keys number and Celine Dion’s. And finally her trademark Gemilang, where one of the cheerleaders sang along with her (though she got the lyrics completely wrong). I bet she’s the happiest girl that day.

Dynamitez from SMK DJ was the champion of Cheer 2005, followed by Blitzerz and Vulcanz, the all-boys team from SMK Seafield. Pretty impressive.

Went back by Sri KL’s bus (sort of..sneaking in since there are no other adults), and the entire party is mad, mad, mad. Madder than anyone else I can think of. Apart from screaming, waving and shouting at all buses who dare to pass by ours (also hollered to Raessa, Suet Teng, Fitri who were walking by), apparently Chee Leung or some other *kissed* Heng Li too XD, and captured on video. For some forsaken mad reason. Wait, going mad doesn’t need a reason.

Rich kids can go mad. I can’t imagine stepping into their lives for a day, having a swimming pool in my compound, an exclusive basketball court, a Porsche… ‘course I’d love to enjoy them all, but I suppose I’m contented with going online and doing shit at home. And hearing the usual financial squabbles on what to spend and what to not spend.

Ate at Salmon Steak, then cafe-d at Inferno till almost 9pm. And back home to rush my Bio folio done under one hour. Since it’s in English, it’s very, very easy to finish. :p

Done with all the pleasantries. My dad, the old-fashioned one who still lives in some fall-in cave, didn’t want me to keep going online past the curfew 10.30pm to do my folio. And I’m supposed to sleep at that time? That’s fucked up, NO ONE ever sleeps at 10.30 ‘cept for them, Jesus Christ. It’s entirely my fucking business to sleep whenever I fucking please.
