Danus

Apparently, Danus changed his handphone number (long story cut short to nothing), finally called Shawn up and we settled for a dinner together. Initially we planned to go to Murni but he had to be back by 10.30pm as he was staying at another person’s house (his mum’s acquaintance), so we went to Asia Cafe instead.

The guy changed so much. Thought I wouldn’t recognise him when he was supposed to wait at the bus stop opposite Subang Parade, but he was quite noticeable, being the only Indian among the rest of the Chinese waiting there.

What was startlingly different was his height (freaking grew taller than me!) and, of course, his New Zealand accent. Thought it would be the same as the Australian’s (why hello mate!), but he could still manage the usual Malaysian lah and whatnot -- so it wasn’t too bad.

Talked quite a bit, he detailed his New Zealand life and us about various stuffs here. The Form 1 Danus who could barely kick a ball now plays for his high school in New Zealand. Just, wow. >_> Shawn fetched him back to his temporary house at about 10.45pm, then gave us Cadbury chocolates each. Mmm.

Almost forgot he had stuttering problems, though now it wasn’t that obvious anymore. It’s been four years since we meet each other face-to-face, but he’s just like the Danus we knew.
