This semester, I very rarely ate in my college’s cafeteria, and so this is probably like my third time eating here this sem. It’s not as if the food was awful, because ever since there was yet another switch of ownerships of the stalls, particularly the Noodles, and Rice Corner, the food quality has improved methinks, and prices remained low. I’m also the type of guy that sticks comfortably to one food every single time if I liked it (Foundation classmates will testify to how I stuck to Fish Ball Noodles nearly every single time we headed to the cafeteria, two owners ago), and so, this semester, I’ve consistently stuck to either Cantonese Kuey Teow or Cantonese Yee Mee – only RM3.50, but I’d like to think it’s one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Picture also shows my finished Cantonese Yee Mee.
Went out to the Summit shortly at night to shop around for a disc.
Project 365 #62: Thursday, 16th April 2009
This was supposed to be a picture of some game show going on in Summit’s concourse, when I went there to get some discs again in the afternoon, but I completely forgot to snap a picture of it. >_>
I webcam-ed with Esther who was at a Starbucks somewhere in Miri at night. She was excited to discover that her webcam was working, and so we had a chat.

Donnie Darko. Ah, how exactly should I describe it? What seemed like a simple plot of Donnie Darko battling a mental illness in which he constantly hallucinates about a 6-foot-tall giant scary rabbit turned out to have layers of depth contained in the 2 hours of this film, so deep, in fact, that I wasn’t able to wrap my head around this intense depth.
I liked how, even when the movie ends, things aren’t as simple as it seemed – which I suspected as much when I went on imdb and looked up for details on what actually happened. Discussions about the movie honestly had me stumped, but then again I was reading all these between 2am and 3am in the morning and my mind probably wasn’t at its peak..
Donnie Darko also stars stellar actors and actresses such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Drew Barrymore. Jake Gyllenhaal was pretty believable as a high school student whose intelligence was clearly above the rest of his peers.

The Fall – initially I thought the name has something to do with autumn, but turns out that it does mean literally falling down. Very beautiful visuals, apparently they were shot at real-life locations, so that’s really something to behold – and it’s heartening to see a child’s incredible innocence interacting with an adult who was trying to commit suicide.
Definitely worth a watch.
RATING: 9/10
Project 365 #64: Saturday, 18th April 2009

I’ve not seen Shawn for ages – as well as the rest – and we were off to an undisclosed location with Ryui Bynn, Andy, and Ding.
Would only reveal said undisclosed location next week or something, and at about 1am, we went off looking for a “mamak rosak” (wtf) but ended up at USJ 4’s mamak. Football match between Arsenal and Chelsea was on (in which Arsenal lost 1-2), plus I was so sleepy I inadvertently nodded off, and we only reached home at about 2.20am.
For the entire Saturday afternoon and even right now as I type, I had a massively entertaining time communicating with a drunk guy on MSN.
