Have you realised that my MSN Messenger’s nick almost always correspond with my blog’s titles? Since the same things are inspiring my blog and my MSN nickname.

Right. Yet another I-didn’t-do-anything-fruitful day (yesterday, since technically at time of writing it’s the start of the final holiday-weekend. Boohoo). I’m still in the over-the-moon holidaying lazying slothful spirit, although I do notice, that as I grow older, holidays are less enjoyable. Especially this year’s. I don’t think adults have many holidays either.

After exchanging phone calls with Heng Li and Andy, in the end I went to the Summit to buy tickets to Mr and Mrs Smith as I can’t book anymore – it’s full. I almost forgot I was wearing the hideous, heavy, headache-inducing (the three Hs!) spectacles, and I went up to the counter, and an Indian girl was attending it:

Me: 5 tickets for Mr and Mrs Smith please, 9pm.
Girl: Are you 18?
Me: rolls eyes, signifying “how DARE you question my age!? Yes. changes subject Oh yeah, this will be in THX right? Is the air-conditioning still working? [refer to previous blog post on Star Wars Episode III]
Girl: Yes, it’s already been fixed.
Me: Oh, okay.
Girl: stares at me again Are you sure? You have to be 18 to watch the show.
Me: rolls eyes Yes, I’m 18.
Girl: Are you sure? You can’t enter even if you’re 17 [boy, does she guessed correctly].
Me: I’m quite sure.
Girl: Okay, here’s your tix.

I’ve always managed to get away with these ‘are-you-18’ questions before, maybe ‘cause the whole lot of us look older than we actually are (we have been mistaken for college students plenty of times). I blame the spectacles. I hate, loathe wearing this pair of un-multi-coated round large spectacles, and my eyes hurt from wearing it.

I had expected Mr and Mrs Smith to be quite good, and yep – it has fulfilled my expectations, and it’s not one of those mindless shoot-shoot-shoot more-crazy-driving-mindless-pointless-shoot-shoot-car-chase movies. There’s plot, there’s subtle humour, there’s action – and these made a very a good watch.

Good ol’ Brad Pitt is looking as good as ever, and Angelina Jolie - breathless, making one of the best onscreen couples ever (who CAN resist her, really?). This is probably one of the best unique action thrillers to date.
