26 Mar 2006 10:28 amThere was a Nintendo DS meetup yesterday (my 2nd so far) at A&W Taman Jaya, and I dragged along both Jon and Wai Hong with me to let them taste how DS multiplayer shines at its best.
Being the traditional road-blind idiot that I am, what makes matters amusing was when my dad showed me the way using Google Earth, and heck, they must’ve updated their images because I could see my house, Goodyear Court 10, roads, everything in detail (not till I could see my Bunny or the ant colony living in my garden though).
So you see, a “How do I go to A&W Taman Jaya?” question can soon be answered in two different ways:
Old Answer: You follow this road, go straight, left, right, turn 180 degrees at the next junction, perform a complicated manoeuvre and proceed to gatecrash the fast food restaurant.
New Answer: Check Google Earth at latitude 142? and longitude 28? yourself lar.
After a short incident where Brandon got lost again (which delayed me from going out earlier as scheduled), this time in Giant, but found swiftly outside the checkout counter where he was sitting on a bench, the three of us went out at about 11am and promptly got stuck in traffic jams.
We reached there at about almost an hour later, went inside the ancient A&W and found the guys from the Lowyat forum already playing DS together. It was scheduled to start at 11am.
Since there wasn’t any space left for us to sit while waiting for the wantans sitting at the next table to move away, we ordered our lunch first. Finishing that, we started playing.

Both me and Wai Hong in this picture.. with our DS and PSP respectively. That’s Jon’s brand new laptop. >_>

The rest of the guys sitting at the next table. I only recognise a few from the previous meet-up I attended to, most notably Greg aka sihumchai. No idea who the gwai lo kid is though.

This is yours truly competing in Mario Kart and managed to get fourth almost every time. Jon got 1st on his first try.

This is Wai Hong who tersesat and played his PSP’s Initial D game.

Greg was standing up most of the time, lol.

Another look at playing DS multiplayer games.. it shineth.

And another at the tables next to us.
Had to go home at about 2pm plus ‘cause Jon got church, and we tumpang carsonoel back to Sunway on the way home.
Went out yamcha at about 10.30pm with Jess, Esther, Wai Hong, Kai Tzin, Shawn and Heng, whom Jon fetched the 5 of us in his Proton Saga. It’s supposed to be Jon’s final yamcha before he leaves for college, and eventually stay in a rented room somewhere near APIIT.
We went to Tanjung at first, then dropped by at Shawn’s house till 1am doing nothing but watching silly MTV shows like Room Raiders. Didn’t exactly feel like a farewell yamcha but heck, it’s something to remember. Like how Esther got high/horny and shit like that.
