End of Project 365

WARNING: 46 PICTURES AHEAD.

This will be my last entry done in the (partial) style of Project 365 – what triggered this sudden decision was when my bro asked to borrow my compact cam for his trip to Kedah, which was when I realised I hadn’t snapped a pic for the day. And then I thought, why on earth am I subjecting myself to this constant diary-like obsession? To be frank, I hadn’t enjoyed writing these posts very much – they limit my creativity (or whatever little I have of it) and it feels almost like a chore trying to sludge through writing these posts for the sake of updating.

A wake-up call, it is – writing is an art for me to use to put my thoughts into perspective, to calm my nerves, anger, among other colourful variety of negative emotions, and most of all, for my own entertainment and myself.

So I’m about 200 days short of actually completing this personal project – perhaps I should have a page of some sort depicting just pictures I take each day for 365 days with no words whatsoever, instead of incorporating them into my actual blog.

Project 365 #101: Tuesday, 26th May 2009

Went to Tanjung with Kai, Jess, Heng, and Andy at night, after which we dropped by at Shawn’s house at nearly midnight for a mini-drinking session. Not to mention that I got spoiled majorly by Kai when he asked me about a dead main character in Prison Break which I’VE YET TO FINISH WATCHING (just 6 episodes till the end of the entire series :((((() – you can imagine how royally pissed I was when I’ve spent the past 3 years watching the series and I was this close to the end. Sigh. (Not tryin’ to lambast you k Kai.)

Whiskey + Diet Coke and Whiskey + Green Tea.

Took some videos throughout the night for Haensly, and I was sufficiently tipsy enough to not remember half of what I was going on about after several miserly drinks. >_> Reached home at 2am+.

Project 365 #102: Wednesday, 27th May 2009

It’s amazing how I managed to get up at 9am+ after Andy rang me up for breakfast (planned the night before at Shawn’s), after I only slept at 4am.

Breakfast at Tien Tien Fatt’s uncreative-ly named Western Food stall, by an ex-Uno’s worker whose food tasted nearly the same as the one at Uno’s at a fraction of the price. Absolutely delicious that I went back for more during lunch after watching a movie for his aglio olio – a personal favourite. Just a bit too bad with the small portion, but for only RM5.50, I shouldn’t really complain.

Watched Star Trek with Andy for the 11.50am showtime at GSC Summit – it’s an excellent re-imagining of the crew of the USS Enterprise, and makes a great prequel too, considering that I’ve not watched a single episode/movie of Star Trek in my life since I grew up with a staple of Star Wars. Clearly Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine shine as two of the main characters who fit into their roles very well as Spock and Kirk, and this movie makes me long for more new sequels – I don’t know if I can stomach the 70s’ version.

I rate it 9/10.

---

No pictures for Thursday since I spent my time at home working on HS, among other things – it was also when I decided to discontinue this personal project for good.

Friday afternoon, I picked up Andy from college and we went to Pyramid together to watch Terminator Salvation – we originally wanted to catch either the 4pm or the 4.30pm show but it had very few seats left, so we ended up watching the 5.20pm show instead. There was also a very long queue then, and when Andy spotted our high school junior Claudine in the crowd, we asked her if she could purchase for us and she did. :D

We met up with Shawn at his workplace at Zanmai – he was on his break, and he didn’t eat his lunch yet so we ended up sharing a delicious, sweet Sukiyaki (beef slices mixed with egg = heaven) that was supersized a little. We didn’t really need to pay as he had his RM40 voucher which he won from his restaurant manager over a bet or something, and there were complimentary ice-creams too.. which I couldn’t eat.

Terminator Salvation was an alright show (I’d rate it 8/10) with exciting action scenes, though I couldn’t really concentrate as I felt the urge to pee 10 minutes after the movie began FML. =/ I was sitting in the middle of the row, and as it was a full house, I didn’t want to bother other moviegoers by trying to get out, so I ended up trying to hold my pee in and when the movie ends, I had to hobble slowly to the toilet, only to find that the male toilet was closed. >____>

FML indeed.

I then cursed my luck and wobbled downstairs slowly for another toilet – the Malay dude who was in front of me who was with his girlfriend/wife was clearly in the same predicament as me too. >_> Let’s just say I never peed for 5 minutes straight before in my life wtf.

And as if to make up for the lack of pictures, Friday night saw us taking an extensive number of photos – but it was actually Audrey who was behind the camera most of the time.

Our usual haunt at Tanjung.

Atrocious flash wtf.

Me and Andy.

Jess, Heng, Audrey. Audrey also incidentally told me that she would actually be flying off to Melbourne on the 4th of July for a holiday with her boyfriend, and also told me that she could just change the date to the 5th to be on the same flight as me. :D She also let on (which I rather didn’t know) that AirAsia’s flight for my date’s only RM300+ WTF. Talk about a serious case of FML when I bought my ticket early in February thinking that it would be cheaper, but with the penalty of changing flight dates factored in, my ticket now stands at RM1100+. Sighhhh.

Hahahaha one of my favourite pics of the night.

Laughing at something – don’t remember what it is now.

We then moved on to McDonald’s Taipan as it was getting too hot (this is the first time I’m actually saying this :/). Spotted Kim San, Ah Sue, and a friend of theirs there as well.

Ahhh one of the few last times we’ll ever get to snap a pic as a complete extended family group. :( Even so the attendees on Friday night were still incomplete wtf.

And another.

Proudly presenting.. Esther’s bag (I think) wtf.

Proudly presenting.. my Fillet-o-Fish without cheese ala-carte.

Snapped using my wireless remote control.

Ohai.

Another of my favourite pic for the night.

I thought this was a pretty good shot of Audrey.

And Jess.

And me lol.

More remote-control-snapped pics.

Stretching.

Among the funnier remote-control-snapped photos.

American money.

lol@my funny facial expression.

Suet’s moho card.

Et moi.

Some handcuffs-keychain.

Looking bored and sleepy.

Hahahaha! Mata terbeliak wtf.

Andy.

Random craziness as usual. <3

Most of the time perpetrated by Esther.

I was leaning onto Andy when Audrey or someone else asked Heng to do the same for a photo wtf.

Hahahaha we so look like a boyfriend-girlfriend here wtf.

Extremely strong winds.

Final attempts at being crazy before we head back home.

I was clearly not in the loop wtf was going on.

Pretending to be nonchalant staring at the McDonald’s poster.

Reached home at nearly 3am.

---

On Saturday (yesterday), went out with Heng and Andy at around 5pm to Atria Shopping Centre for the Adidas Warehouse Sale – it was terribly disappointing for me, not too many good things on sale and the ones that were still available had designs so awful you wouldn’t catch them on my dead corpse.

I wandered around to what I thought was a book warehouse sale, but it turns out to be a permanent fixture where cheap books are abound – though mostly books in the older editions. I was surprised to see a Will Self book – it’s rare to see his books here because of the rather objectionable material that our overzealous authorities wouldn’t allow – and I contemplated briefly whether to get The Book of Dave considering that I’ve at least 5 books purchased some months ago which I’ve yet to read, but in the end I bought it anyway since it’s a hard cover version for only… RM10. Good buy.

I then drove us back to Tien Tien Fatt for more.. yeah you guess it right, the Western Stall, but this time I went for the RM7.50 fish steak instead. It’s definitely good alright, but I’m just a bit disappointed at the small portion as it was hardly enough for me.

My fish steak.

When I went back home, I did my task of watering the plants that took up nearly 30 minutes (good lord) and then practised playing the piano, and not long after at about 9pm.. Heng arrived to lepak. He went on playing Call of Duty: World at War on my Wii, and afterwards I took over playing Okami while he watched. We also ate two packets of Maggi Mee each and we continued with more beautiful and exciting adventures of Amaterasu in Okami till he went home at about 2am.
