10 Aug 2005 2:38 pmIt’s been eight years since the haze has gotten as worse as this, and I’d like to think it’s the worst (can’t remember exactly how the 1997 haze was like).
When I look outside, around me, seeing how visibility is so low it feels like a morning mist, it’s almost beautiful to an extent. That is, if you don’t inhale the terrible stench of burnt items. I’m serious when I say it looks beautiful -- how often do you see Subang shrouded in a mist-like haze? :)
...right. And when I heard from friends about hailstorms (imagine that) occuring in Sunway and some parts of PJ and Subang, it’s almost unbelievable. Reminds me of that movie The Day After Tomorrow (which has certain cities pelted with enourmous hailstorms), and the book Not the End of the World. In spite of all these unnatural occurences, it seems beautiful to me, in a way. Almost like the movie.
Mum says if haze index level goes beyond 500, the country will be put in a national Emergency, according to sources. That’s Darurat to those who doesn’t know what it means. :) And the last Emergency was like what..5 decades back?
I don’t know if any of you finds the haze beautiful (I know I’ve cursed it in my previous post, but at the mo’, if the haze can stop schools from operating, whee XD), but seeing Taipan shrouded in a nasty mist after our tuition early tonight while dining outside at a mamak (heh, imagine that)... it’s beautiful!!
Apparently today in school (which I cleverly skipped), the school went haywire—students went out openly, parents picked up their students… mmm.
The world has some pretty screwed up natural disasters and weathers lately. Tornadoes and hurricanes which got worse over the years, floods… and now hailstorms in Malaysia. At this rate, seriously, something as terrible as depicted in The Day After Tomorrow might just occur. ...pardon me for saying this, but somehow, I’m not sorry if that happens, ‘cause something out of the ordinary rarely occurs in mundane ol’ Malaysia.
Yeah, it sounds kinda fun to me. In a way. Provided I don’t die in said terrible disasters.
Tomorrow I’ll be off with Shawn’s dad to see some Chinese sinseh. I’m anticipating pain and more pain and more pain (*imagines an old Chinese, white-bearded man cracking and tugging at my ankle and leg*), but somehow I’m not afraid, though I’m expecting myself to yell a lot. :) Just wanna get better soon, and walk and run like any other people.
..I do feel like a disabled.
