9 Dec 2005 5:00 pmI just had the strangest feeling. I was looking at one of the subject books lying around my room and I was compelled to turn it over and read it. Mathematics. History. I was so fucking bored I could just start sitting down and do some Add Maths.
Someone diagnose me please. I might have the Post-SPM Delusion Syndrome.
There has been an evolution of transportation taken by yours truly over the years. I’m happy to compile it.
0 years old – 12 years old:
Parents’ car. It has always been “Mummy, please fetch me to Bugger’s birthday party please” or “Pick me up from school” or sitting on a school bus to and fro for a short while. Or tumpang a friend’s car. It has always been other people’s car.
13 years old – 16 years old:
Cycling rocks. Once I was allowed to cycle anywhere I wanted to, it was fun travelling on bike. Sight-seeing across neighbourhoods from USJ 1 up to USJ 27, cycling up with friends on our very own named Purple Hill.. it had been too much fun. Cycling. Anywhere we needed to go we went by bike.
Buses and trains, and even walking, were our means of transportation, if going by parents’ car failed. No car? Hitch a bus! Patience is a must when boarding old, cranky buses or trains that wouldn’t arrive on time.
17 years old:
Now that SPM was over, going around on your own by car was the start of ditching public transport, and stop relying on your parents. Going out till late midnight… almost daily.
So for a change, at about 8pm earlier I walked to Heng’s. The cold, fresh night air was a breather, listening to the various insects squeaking, the Chinese restaurant’s wok billowing with fried mee, crossing the road full of cars at the traffic lights…
Then both of us went to Shawn’s together to watch Four Brothers. It’s an alright show if I could figure out what they were talking about half the time since the black accent was simply too thick, what with the stupid piraters’ Chinese-translated subtitles.
For instance:
original line:
I love you man.
subtitled line:
I love your hair.
Wtf.
Then went out for a drink and bite at Asia Cafe, SS15. Reached home before 12am.
