You are there, I see, tangible, a moss of fluffy clouds and pink bunnies and a rabid annoyance that is the pimple on your dimple. Haha, it rhymes.

If only, and if only you’d get up. Lying there on the immortalised white bedsheet with a splinter of sorrow etched on your face, you are a wreck. I said it, you are a complete wreck.

With tubes and wires slicing into every vein of yours, your fa?ade changes with every passing day. The beautiful tender skin of yours, I caress you softly, I coo corny songs, I sit on my knees as your eternal slave. For you, I’d die…

I kneel there for millennia as the sun sets and rises for a billion times, as I’ve seen every passing season, every torrential wind, every heartbreaking disaster inflicted on your mortal body.

Why am I immortal when you are not..?

I’ve forgotten how your face once look like, serene and gorgeously beautiful, when the birds chirped to herald mornings instead of vultures squawking to invite deaths. I’ve forgotten how you and I were once intangible, a dream within a dream, a livelihood lovers would dream of.

I’ve forgotten how you and I would hold hands - the warmth in your hands I missed dearly - and watch each passing day together. I’ve forgotten how the sparkling spring water tasted, how we’d picnic under the tallest oak without fear, how we’d gently kiss as man and wife.

I’ve forgotten, my dear, that you were once the great Mother Nature, and I was once the invincible Father Time.
