Final Ruums

As I reached out for my toothbrush in the yellow cup, my thumb felt a slight sting and I looked at it. A small slice of my skin and flesh must’ve been cut, as thick blood started oozing forth from it like a gurgling spring, and I started washing it with the running tap water, while trying to swallow the pain that surged from it. Apparently I had cut myself on my shaving razor, and I thought how curiously accidental it had been, when I was just hours away yesterday from going for clubbing.

Went out anyhow by two cars, Shawn’s and Suet’s, and I was in Suet’s. After picking up Esther at her OUG home, we went together to Maison’s only to find it deserted. I’m not much of a crowd person, but even clubbing without a sufficient amount of dancing strangers would stand out odd.

OMFG scary shit wtf we were trying to avoid being behind it or beside it. Look at the bus’ bottom right tyre, it was on TOP of a frigging crib! Welcome to Malaysia’s express buses, where your final destination is hell.

In the end we headed to Ruums, and after both Esther and Heng surveyed the area for a while and gave the green light, we parked our cars and went right in. After ordering a bottle of Bicardi Lemon from the entrance (90% treated by Suet <3), our ears were assaulted by booming loud music as we walked into Ruums. Disembodied patterns from laser lights danced around blindingly, and generally you can see that for a club, paradoxically despite the loud music, the atmosphere were kinda quiet, thanks to the lesser amount of people.

Not that I’m complaining.

One of the quieter areas of Ruums. Not that we were there.

Esther, Heng, Suet, Kai Tzin.

Ding, me, Sarah, Esther.

Part of the troupe that went.

wtf@Shawn.

Frankly it wasn’t my type of scene, had to feel the blood rushing through my head before I was willing to be coerced to dance semi-awkwardly on the dance floor with the rest of my friends. I particularly enjoyed a particular section of the lasers where their quick intervals made it seem as if several frame-by-frame photographs were being snapped live – hard to explain the experience.

The alcohol was quite mild, and Shawn was surprisingly quiet throughout the entire endeavour as it was completely unlike him.

DJs playing songs I heard on the radio before are fine, but I dislike their so-called house music – it was hard to dance to.

When we left Ruums at 2am.

One of the several obligatory group pics.

Without flash, with Malaysian flags flying proudly in the background.

Ruums.

wtf@the three.

Snapping without flash was much better.

Those who were in Suet’s car (me, Kai Tzin, Suet, Ding, Esther) went for mamak after that, where we finally reached home at 4am.

Wasn’t able to type more, there were so many things on my mind, mostly filled by college work which I was feeling rather afraid I couldn’t cope. Degree life had been a culture shock of sorts – I wasn’t able to take it easy anymore as I had did with my foundation, and.. I don’t know if I have enough inspiration to keep it going for 5 more semesters.

It was always scholarships that fuelled me to perform my best, but now that that was out of the question, I just don’t see why I should even bother to get good grades at all, as my degree doesn’t even have first class honours, etc.

---

Two Fridays ago, me, Yen, Shawn, Andy, and Ding went to Midvalley to watch Rush Hour 3 at 12am. One-line review: Freaking hilarious and on-screen comedy between Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, despite the weak storyline.

Last Friday afternoon, me, Ding, Kai Tzin, and Andy went to Summit to watch Secret, a Jay Chou flick wtf. The first half was amazingly corny and typical of a Chinese love drama that I had second thoughts, but the later half was completely unexpected zomg. Turned out better than I expected, and the theme song ideally rocks.

See you tomorrow Suet.
