Fleeting scent of happiness

Project 365:

I’ve decided that I’ll just post up pics I’ve snapped everyday when the mood strikes rather than putting it on a daily/weekly/monthly roll.. or something. >_> After all, I’m normally fairly busy from Mondays to Thursdays.

I’m still undecided of how I want this personal project to be though. Perhaps I’ll just post multiple pics in any one day that I’ve taken more than one pic of (yeah I’m thinking out aloud literally wtf) – that would be my own customization of Project 365 and I’ll be incorporating it within this blog without creating a separate blog/page. :) Yep it’s been decided!

Project 365 #1: Saturday, 14th February 2009

Poser kid who was just spontaneously modelling for me at Decanter Too on Valentine’s. You wouldn’t believe how he just sat there, staring at my camera while I clicked away and gave several facial expressions wtf.

Project 365 #2: Sunday, 15th February 2009

At The Curve, celebrating my birthday with my family.

Project 365 #3: Monday, 16th February 2009

After wishing me Happy Birthday via SMS on Sunday night, Khai Shin told me that she wants to treat me to lunch. And so we went to Subway SS15 on Monday where I had my first Subway in years.. a delicious turkey ham and vege combo – very healthy methinks – without.. cheese. Kenneth joined us for this lunch of ours very briefly – also found out for the first time that he cycles to college! Probably the only one who’s doing it in our college wtf.

Project 365 #4: Tuesday, 17th February 2009

The dude with the funny expressions is Mr. FAC himself! Yes his face is finally revealed although as of late I found him less annoying already – maybe I’ve just gotten used to his antics. Mun Wah also wanted to snap a photo with a rather handsome visiting lecturer, Ashton de Silva, who was sitting down alone on a chair by the corridor, but after she contemplated for far too long of ways to make it less embarrassing a request (such as having me and Kenneth snapping pics together with her and asking someone else to snap a photo for us), the photo op went away lol.

Kenneth busy explaining a macroeconomic topic of Aggregate Supply (no.. it’s not the simple AS model anymore :() to Rebecca. We studied at the Resource Centre during our break to do our Macroeconomics 2 tutorial questions – such is my life every Tuesday.

During our Introduction to Financial Planning lecture from 4.30pm to 6pm, Kenneth was busy using my camera and snap a pic of himself and Mun Wah (he told us that he really want to have a Canon for himself too since he’s interested in photography)..

Rebecca and I.

Me eating Uncle Bob’s Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Rice which was really good despite the above average price of RM6. Ignore my facial expression wtf.

Watched Tais-tois! at ICLS during our final French class after we sat for our supposed ‘exam’ (while our teacher marked our answers on the spot), whose questions were already made known to us the week before and we could even do them at home. >_> I seriously question ICLS’ standards.

Project 365 #5: Wednesday, 18th February 2009

At night at the lobby of Sutramas Condo where my French teacher resides (not from ICLS). It’s really beautiful and serenely quiet – I only snapped this with my Canon IXUS 850 IS, maybe I should bring my DSLR here one day.

Project 365 #6: Thursday, 19th February 2009

At Jon’s house briefly after I asked him to print To Zanarkand (from Final Fantasy X) piano sheets as my printer at home wouldn’t function. Also discussed with him our contract with a certain GamerDNA while printing it out.

Booked my tix to Melbourne on 12 July under the 20% discount offered by AirAsia. There’s no turning back now..

Project 365 #7: Friday, 20th February 2009

At Universiti Malaya’s Law Faculty’s library at about 2pm – even though I used my GPS to direct me to UM’s Economics faculty (I couldn’t find the Law Faculty on my GPS at that time, which also had some issues on the day when I really needed to use it -__-), we still didn’t know where the Law Faculty is so we asked the guard for directions who just told us point-blank that we should just follow the signboards. None of which directed us to the Law Faculty (thanks helpful guard!) so in the end I had to call Xin Min and asked her for directions.. after the second phone call, I searched again on my GPS and managed to nail it. Oh and we had to go to the Law Faculty’s library because our Law of Investment lecturer told us to do so for our research, and we had to pay a sum of RM20 to use the library -___- (our lecturer told us it’s RM10, but it’s only RM10 if we go after 5pm) and get the receipt and stamp and attach it to the appendix of our assignment as proof of research wtf.

I went with Kenneth (who was feeling slightly better after being really sick yesterday, and so he ate merely two containers of mashed potato at KFC SS15 for lunch while I had my Snack Set), and snapped this pic while he was busy copying down details of the books for referencing purposes. Took us nearly an hour to find the right books (took me forever to find the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 statute, because we weren’t law students nor lawyers, we didn’t really know how to look), then probably another hour perusing through the books, and then sent the books to the photostat shop to photocopy some pages (I’ve ‘photocopied’ some of the pages for two books with the camera in my phone too wtf).

I thought there aren’t many bizarre things that people have said to me (in a pleasant way), but when I was sitting down reading/writing something while Kenneth was standing up, he suddenly told me, “Eh, your eyebrow is quite thick ya” as he studied my face intently. I was so surprised by this remark I didn’t know what to reply to this comment immediately, but merely brushed it off by saying “Nola my eyebrow very messy only, other people’s eyebrows are way thicker than mine” wtf.

Part of the building of the Law Faculty.

I reached home at about 5.15pm.

What is happiness?

It comes in the form of the knowledge that 20th Century Boys – this writer opines that it’s the best manga to have ever existed with an elaborate storyline weaved together with the masterpiece of drawings – has been turned into a movie. It comes in the form of talking and relating to accepting good friends. In the form of excited anticipation for studying in Melbourne maybe with Kenneth. When listening to Wang Lee Hom’s 春雨里洗过的太阳’s rhythm in the pouring rain on Thursday evening. When going on a journey with friends by car. When seeing shooting stars dart across the star-strewn sky in a remote village in Laos. When swimming laps at Andy’s Sunway Lagoon Club despite the fact that the best swimming impression I could make was that of a dying frog. In the form of that rare moment when being engrossed in a game, movie, or a book, and forgetting that the real world exists, that everything is fleeting like the whisk of the scent of happiness, that I’m still here.
