2 Apr 2007 1:18 amWent to 1 Utama with Ding (driver), Andy, and Wai Hong to watch Just Follow Law, a Singaporean satirical film on the red-tape of the government’s departments and the inflexibility of it them all. Quite hilarious, as expected from a Jack Neo’s production since it does struck the viewers’ hearts as being familiar, especially when it pokes at regular movie-goers’ habits and characteristics.
I thought Fann Wong’s acting is a little stiff when she was trying to portray a man in a woman’s body, but to her credit I guess it’d be tough emulating guys anyway :p
To everyone else who doesn’t know about this nifty little blog yet, please visit Fann Wong’s “mother”’s blog – stomach-cramp inducing laughter and amusement are guaranteed. :D (Although I can’t ascertain the genuineness of the entire blog, and if it’s real, thumbs up.)
After a little walking around and shopping (and almost buying a webcam, but didn’t in the end because the shopkeeper refused to lower down his price when I already know how much I really can get it for), we went back home for dinner, before we set out again for our now weekly DotA session, then McD’s Taipan for a short yumcha session with the rest.

Andy’s purchased stuff in a yellow bag.
Saturday saw me doing a 5-hour Mandarin class stint from 8am till 1.20pm as I was taking a trial Intermediate class (11am till 1pm) – my teacher recommended me the jump as she thought it was ‘no point staying on a class where you get 90% in your exams’, which basically means I don’t have to sleep early on Friday nights from now on. =D (Did I also mention that the new class is incredibly tough?)
Shawn and Ding dropped by during our short break (10.30am) to enquire about the Japanese class – and turns out that if we really want to go for it, we’d have to get at least 4 people to start a new one. I honestly think I’ll be enjoying myself despite the added burden of taking two language classes at once – particularly since I have this real liking and interest in languages. True calling, perhaps?
I was feeling quite euphoric the entire day for some reason – maybe because of the class switch and the stark difference between my old class and the new one: lessons seemed more livelier, and my new classmates are quite chatty and hilarious. Or maybe because of the upcoming prospect of the Japanese lesson, something I’ve wanted to take for a while now.
After a dinner with my parents at Pizza Uno, Heng fetched me (finally got his license!! :D), Shawn, and Ding under the pouring rain to SS15’s Kaos – yet another DotA session (fuck are we completely chained to the game), after which, we went to Shawn’s house to “watch a movie”. In the end we didn’t really do that, except eat Shawn’s freshly-made spaghetti after being completely inspired by the RM130+ Jamie Oliver book the whole lot of us shared for him (which Andy bought, ‘course).
Now here’s a pretty hilarious anecdote that made me a temporary target for jokes for the next few days. While we were on the way to SS15, my handphone blared up and I fished it from my pocket and saw a message typed completely in caps – which obviously means there could only be one person. It’s the sexy nurse.
The message reads, verbatim:
HI. CLEMENT HOW ARE YOU? ARE YO U BUSY STUDY, C OZ… TOMORROW I S MONTH OF APRI L, SO… I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK IN YO UR’RE COLLEGE E XAM, AS WE ARE FRIEND FOREVER NEVER END. GOOD NITE…!
