I remember pleading months ago for people to slap some sense into me should I ever break down and get a new gadget, something I can probably live without but would put some sparks into my life a little, because really, I’m beginning to think I’m a closeted gadget aficionado.
On Friday morning, Ding came to my house at 10.30-ish and we were off for KTM Subang Jaya, parking the black Myvi at Carrefour beforehand. Everything seemed to be going well, until the train stopped at a particular station (was it Petaling?) with its doors ajar for a good 5 minutes or so. Then came the dreaded announcement that “haraf maaf, perkhidmatan tren tergendala buat sementara waktu disebabkan oleh gangguan bekalan elektrik di KL Sentral”.
Like dotdotdot wtf. Just when we thought that we could rely on public transportation to Kuala Lumpur without driving all the way there to avoid unnecessary traffic jams.
Ding and I started blaming one another for not driving down when 15-20 minutes later the train resumed its journey, only to STOP AGAIN at Angkasapuri station. Ah, the joys of train-hopping in Malaysia, particularly KTM’s horrendous services, rendering everyone’s journey immobile.
What could’ve been a quick 45 minutes journey to KL turned out to be longer than an hour, and when we reached KL Sentral, we went straight to KFC for lunch, not before we were greeted with sights and sounds of what looked like an apocalypse: radio announcements all over the train hub about KTM’s soon-to-be irregular service with a ‘sincere’ apology, darkened lights at KTM’s KL Sentral stop – it’s as if a nationwide disaster had occurred, out of a movie.
Righttt anyway after a somewhat not value-for-money bite at KFC (their RM8++ Alaskan Fish Burger was just meh), Ding and I resumed our journey to KLCC via LRT, not before encountering further problems with the Touch n Go card, as we didn’t need to ‘check out’ of the KTM station due to the disruption to its services (after the counter guy did something to my card, I don’t know whether I’m imagining it but my Touch n Go credit shot up by RM10 for free O_O). Bought Ding a Touch n Go card for RM20 (RM10 credit) at a shady-looking stall near the LRT station, since Ding ingeniously travelled to KL with only RM12.xx in his wallet, 10 of which has been used up for the lunch at KFC and the ticket to KL Sentral wtf.
Anyway long story short, after walking around KL Convention Centre, I concluded that it’s a horrible venue to hold the bi-half-yearly PC Fairs, after getting used to have all the computer stalls inside one giant hall in PWTC, rather than the new floor plan of having to go from one hall to another which is rather taxing and inconvenient in my opinion. Ding got his headset+mic (no prizes given to guess as to how he bought it with his remaining RM2 lol) and I got my Logitech Quickcam Fusion, which was something we both have been eyeing on for a while = two happy people.

Mari berwebcam denganku! Or Skype denganku since this baby has a mic built-in.

We travelled back to KL Sentral, and waited for a good 15-20 minutes for the next train to arrive (not at the usual KTM station, but at KTM’s Intercity station) without even having to pass through any Touch n Go screening machines. Hmm.
While inside the stationary KTM train, I spotted my college’s lecturer (who didn’t teach me) with her entire family, someone whom I originally thought on my first day in college was the toilet cleaner, no joke >_>. After sitting down on the seats to rest our poor, tired legs, whom should we see but our USJ 8 high school teacher Pn Lim! Ding nudged me to bring my attention to her – and I don’t know why I did it but my instant reaction was to look away from her and pretended to sleep, all the while resisting Ding’s pinches and continuous nudges.

Picked up Andy at Carrefour, then went to our ex-alma mater to collect our original SPM certs – like finally. Met up with the rest who were there upstairs near the chemistry lab.

Group pic minus Andy.

Rindu sungguh.. although I’m not missing the new fact where apparently u8 has some new rules whereby after the end-of-recess bell rang, you have to line up before you disperse back to your respective classes wtf.

We went for a brief yumcha at Maju & Maju, after I jokingly suggested eating at the horrible Darwina opposite the school.

Loads of stories to tell, our ex-class monitor has.

Lalala.
Reached home at nearly 6pm, took a nap, ate dinner, went out again for the all-guys DotA bonding session at Kaos (FTZ was filled to the brim), I won the first round by sheer luck when I was teamed up with RB against Ding and Heng, then won again when I was teamed up with Ding.
Since all of us couldn’t possibly fit into Heng’s car, I drove Ding and Sarah to USJ 17’s Melur, where we waited till the clock to strike 12.
A surprise was in store for Heng (of the lack thereof) for his 19th birthday, where he was drenched completely in dhal and milo ais. Not surprising who the mastermind was, and even less surprising when the anes refused to further serve us since we dirtied their compound.
We went to McD’s briefly till 1.30am to continue our session.

Shawn and Andy.

Esther and Jess laughing, while Sarah looked completely bored.

Andy and Esther.
‘tis my mid-sem exam this week, so lack of entries are to be expected.. although yesterday I just spent several hours DotA-ing away with Ding utilising Skype, which was a whole new experience (not needing to type away to communicate but just talk and talk) – to me at least. :p
