General Erection

I have somewhat of some free time now and instead of choosing to do more educationally beneficial things like studying, I choose to share a story with you.

Last month (or two months ago, I forgot), my dad came into my room and produced a DVD and asked me to do 3-4 copies of it for his colleagues. I was a little annoyed ‘cause copying DVDs take time (and I can’t remember what I was doing at that moment), but I asked him anyway what the DVD was about seeing that there weren’t any words on it. And he cheekily smiled and said, “It’s an X-rated DVD”.

Can you imagine my “WTF” face? No you couldn’t, but anyway I said “OK” to do this small little responsible job as a son to his father to mass-copy pornographic DVDs wtf.

When I inserted the DVD into my laptop, the Auto-Play option popped up and I was presented with several options, one of which includes playing it. Obviously I didn’t pass up the chance to investigate what’s so interesting about this porno that requires mass-distribution to my dad’s colleagues… and when I saw the menu of the DVD with selections of chapters.. I was instantly revolted.

Disgusted because it’s…

It’s…

That infamous sex DVD of a certain Health Minister WTF.

I immediately exited the program because ewwww it was such a turn-off. How could a video of an old man engaging in sexual activities be interesting eludes me – and the video’s dark and grainy at that. But according to video-editing expert Suet Mei wtf during our recent meet-up at Pan Bakery on Monday, said Health Minister has an 8-inch package ya righttttttt.

So yes I spent considerable time to use my blank DVDs to copy them off for my dad’s esteemed colleagues. And about a week or two later, I was asked to copy it again but this time it’s for my uncles and aunties….....

SERIOUSLY WHAT IS SO INTERESTING ABOUT THAT!?

I used to be quite apathetic when it comes to political news, but this election, in which I couldn’t vote, imbued me with a certain awareness and felt injustice towards what our present Government had done. I’ve read newspapers, watched television ads and heard countless of pro-BN testimonials over the radio that I’m quite convinced that our BN-controlled media would do anything within its power to suppress the Opposition’s voice.

I’ve yet to see a single Opposition advertisement in the mainstream media. I used to be such a staunch supporter and reader of TheStar, but since the Bersih incident, I’ve learned to read in between the lines.

I’ve also failed to convince my parents to vote for DAP who is contesting in my constituency – I’m a lousy debater, but then again I think I’ve tried my best as an aspiring voter.

Tonight, I shall keep myself glued to the results of the General Election.

Edit at 9:17PM: I’ve never felt so excited over elections before – when I was in Thailand with my Bangkok host, he seemed rather.. apathetic about it when results were being screened on television (entirely in Thai of course), and when Thaksin’s close allies’ party won, he brushed it aside saying “nothing would change”.

I just got back from eating dinner with Jon, and immediately glued myself to malaysiakini.com. DAP’s Hannah Yeoh won the Subang Jaya state seat. The Opposition (DAP-PKR-PAS coalition) has taken over Penang and will be forming the state government there. BN is suffering a huge setback.

Malaysian’s General Elections have never been so exciting. Ding and I contemplated watching the news over at mamak (instead of football wtf), but heck since the Internet gives live news much faster than the television, we’re excitingly discussing this over MSN with Jon instead. :) And I’m shouting updated live results to my parents downstairs as my mum groaned over DAP’s victory in Subang Jaya.

Funny really to have two political factions right in my own home.

Too bad we aren’t old enough to vote. Otherwise it’ll be so fun when we all go out and voted together.

My mum told me that after you cast your vote, you feel happy that you’ve done your part as a citizen of this country.

Yes seriously too bad we can’t vote. I’ll definitely register and exercise my right as a voter when the day comes in the next 4 years. :D

Can’t imagine the whole lot of us going to school again.. to vote next time. :p

Hehe yeah frankly I’m very surprised by such a huge defeat suffered from Barisan – I thought that since the mainstream media has been controlled by the BN, surely all’s that left is only a handful of people who’d know the real uncensored truth from the Internet. But looks like our voters are very well informed.

But I’ll still stand by my position of NOT voting for PAS if it’s in my constituency on the next general election. I despise PAS and Hadi and their archaic policies.

So Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak, and the most developed state Selangor have all been captured by the Opposition. What would happen next.. I await the next few days cautiously, but happy because of BN’s historical setback. :)
