Hadiah dari MPSJ

Went to Maybank again today, and after finding an empty parking lot in busy ol’ Taipan, reached the bank concerned at 12.28pm sharp (from what I saw on my handphone), and proceeded to the main counter. My appointment was 12.30pm.

I was told to go to Table 3 or 4, so I did. After waiting for a short mo’, a kid about my age walked off from it. Sat down immediately, told the Malay lady that I want to open a new account and I’ve already made an appointment, and then was told to “tunggu sebentar ya, nanti abang ni datang” (referring to the Malay guy at Table 4). The lady walked off for her lunch.

So yay, I sat for half an hour waiting for the abang to attend to me. In that span of time I played with my DS, which is a joy to have.

Long story short, when he finally attended to me at about 1.10pm (ya know, typical Malaysian unpunctuality), we finalised the whole account thing in about 20 minutes. Went back home to eat lunch.

Why I chose Maybank:

- Everything is electronic. There’s a Cash Deposit machine, Cheque Deposit machine, and the regular ATM.

- The online banking site maybank2u.com, where you can check your account regularly without going to the physical bank itself. Perfect when I want to check whether iPLAY had banked in my payment or not.

- You can transfer funds from your Maybank account to another person’s Maybank account via Internet.

- (This is useful in the future when I’m finally working.) You can pay your bills, credit card statements, etc online!

- You can invest online! Fixed deposit!

- Billions of Maybank ATM machines everywhere, making it completely ubiquitous.

That totally beats going to the bank itself.

Also went to Jon’s house at about 2.20pm by Wai Hong’s mum’s car (to test out the Wi-Fi capabilities of my DS and WH’s PSP, where mine failed to work). On the way there, mum phoned me and told the dreaded news that.

I GOT A FUCKING TICKET.

From MPSJ. A belated birthday present.

To be completely honest, I have no idea that you need to pay the miserable 50sen per hour at the parking lot available everywhere. I was fined RM80 for this silly offense, which sangat menyakitkan hati saya when I’m completely broke. Had to withdraw money from the ATM later on (heh).

Apparently you can rayu until you only have to pay about RM42 (no idea why they’re so specific with that RM2), but stillll.. argh. Oh well, learn something new everyday. With money on top of it.

Sangat sangat sakit hati.

Stayed at Jon’s house till almost 6pm, where I had to go off early for an orthodontist appointment I completely forgotten about. Supposed to play mahjong at my house too at night.. but that didn’t work out either.

(Edit: Yes, I do realise that ‘hadiah daripada MPSJ’ is grammatically correct - that is, if I recall my BM correctly - but there’s less oomph when using that as a title).
