Harry Potter and the Pyramid Night

Yesterday’s Add Maths was alright, couldn’t say it was really easy (maybe some questions) and can’t say it’s that hard either. What bothered me was the moment I saw the words Matematik Tambahan Kertas I in front of me, my sporadic headache set in at all the wrong times. Which costed me a few questions where I made several really silly mistakes. (I’m beginning to think the male period manifests itself in the form of random headaches, but then again I might have some horrendous tumour or baby aliens reproducing in my brains.)

For that 4-hour interval break in between we headed to Andy’s house by Ryui Bynn’s car and rested there, as well as tapau food from Tien-Tien Fatt nearby. My head pounded, banged on rhythmic drums inside me and even trying to sleep didn’t help.

Finally I thought of Suet’s blog entry which mentioned taking Actifast for her periodic stomach cramps. And some advertisement from the past mentioning something about relieving pain instantly told me I should be taking it.

On hearing Sasi’s advice that I should be heading to the sundry shop opposite the school and grab some Actifast pills, I did. I swallowed one immediately after while waiting for the effects to set in. It wasn’t as instantaneous as I had hoped it would be (that proves miracle pills don’t exist), but 20 minutes after getting into Paper II, the headache reduced itself and subsided completely. Whew.

Didn’t have enough time to complete the last question but no matter – it’s over and I’m not going to be bothered about it.

Seeing that we now have about 4-5 days of rest and study, going out yesterday night seems perfectly feasible. We needed the rest after taxing our brains with stupid moral values and the equally tiring Add Maths.

After managing to convince my parents to let me drive to Summit to watch a movie (which made me completely ecstatic and pushed my ecstasy-o-meter three notches higher), they finally, after nine months of getting my own driving license, to drive out alone for once. *does the victory dance

There were, of course, problems to plans as usual and on a complicated twist of events, Shawn who initially couldn’t join us for movies came to stay overnight at my house on the pretext of my house would be empty and my mother invited him over.

Suet Li who kindly offered to buy tickets for us discovered tickets for the Potter show was sold out at Summit, and went to Pyramid to get the 10.30pm one for us instead. In the end, after Shawn and Heng came over to my house, I drove us to Pyramid at 9pm.

Pyramid looked awfully beautiful with its intense lighted decor of hibiscus with a holidaying mood to it. Which proves that we haven’t been there for some time now.

We walked around aimlessly, and finally settled at the top floor to watch a splendid game of ice hockey going on. It was fun, and once I get the picture uploaded from my handphone, I’ll post it here.

Awesome, isn’t it? Wished I had brought my digital camera along instead >_>

We continued walking around after knowledge of Barry taking a long time to make-up himself was known to us.. and they finally arrived at 10.30pm sharp, give or take a few minutes.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was alright, considering that we were sitting at the side row, 3 rows from the front, causing our vision to be distorted by it. The fact that it was just a Wednesday night didn’t deter the rest of like-minded people to crowd into a cinema to watch a supposedly popular movie.

My only grouch was the movie didn’t stick to the original novel (as usual, considering how thick the book is) and it looked entirely rushed, skipping merrily from one event to another without a pause for breath.

To top it off, it’s a 2 hours and 30 minutes show so by the time it finished at 1am, we were all half-dead.

I enjoyed the midnight drive on the road and felt more awake – I had to anyway. Barry’s car and mine was side-by-side at the exit of the parking lot where we had to slot in our tickets, but they didn’t see us. We continued trailing ‘em all the way to the road near Summit till we finally lost ‘em, and made a turn to USJ 9’s Syed Ariff for some midnight bite/drink.

Finally dropped Heng off at his house, went back to my house, and after a quick shower both Shawn and I slept immediately.

And here I am. I actually drew with Shawn at the Winning Eleven 8 game earlier thrice (0-0, 1-1 and 2-2) and won on penalty kicks for all of ‘em. :D Considering how I have not played a football game for some time (the World Cup 2002 PC game won’t count), it’s a funny little achievement.

I really don’t have much of a comment this time. That whole long thing left me with nothin’ much to say other than glad you had fun and stuff like that. o_O

This one is strangely more nicely written thatn usual, though. :]
