I shall not think of China.

With nothing better to do at home, I went to Andy’s house initially yesterday to borrow some (pirated) DVDs to watch at home, then brought him out to the USJ 2 mamak near Shell station to eat. Apparently the food’s there good too, so could give it a try. Service was slightly bad, considering how they forgot Andy’s order, without even giving his ordered milo ais in the first place.

After fetching him to Fang Chyuan’s house to return some borrowed PC games (he wasn’t at home), got him back home and myself too. Watched Deuce Bigalow: The European Gigolo at 1am—while it was funny, seemed just..mediocre to me.

Since our very old friend whom we knew during our Form 1 days at u8, Danus Ravindran, came back from New Zealand for one month after leaving us for the land of the sheeps in Form 2, we were supposed to go out for dinner with him today.

But Shawn couldn’t contact him since yesterday; I tried dialling Danus’ cellphone number but the only thing that greeted me on the other end was the voicemail.

Pfft.

But Jon, Shawn and I went to Asia Cafe anyway and had dinner at almost 8pm. After dropping off Jon, we went to Wai Hong’s house and dropped by for a chat with his mum and played his PS2 till 11pm. Wai Hong was apparently going to China too with Ryui Bynn and the rest—it sounded all very exciting, fun, adventurous.

While Andy and I were discussing about various things and finally landed on the Langkawi issue, I told him about my dissatisfaction that we’ll have to use Shawn’s mum’s tour idea thingy when going there. She was afraid that we’ll get lost there on unfamiliar roads if we were to drive on our own on rented cars, plus the road conditions are not favourable, etc.

Even with the supposedly shitty cars they provide, I thought those are the things – the obstacles – that made travelling on our own more.. fun. Memorable, in fact.

Andy further told me to not “think about yourself only” (true), and explained the various incidents that made Shawn’s mum completely paranoid of water, so much so that she went to some temple and brought back news to Shawn that “God says not to swim in the water”. Wtf.

The idea of being able to go to China with a bunch of friends..to work at BMW, is. So. Terribly. Exciting.

I shall not get my hopes up, since as of now I don’t know if there’s still space left. I shall not get my hopes up. I shall not…

Let’s just talk about the finer ways of consuming cheap alcohol at the Langkawi trip next year.

1 Thought to I shall not think of China.
