Project 365 #65: Sunday, 19th April 2009

The cruellest scene ever in Jeux D’enfants – it was completely unexpected that I was rather taken aback. This French flick is a very bizarre romantic comedy about a pair of young kids who took their inside betting game very far up till their young adulthood, not without repercussion. I’d give this a 8.5/10 rating.

Project 365 #66: Monday, 20th April 2009

I was driving to my French class in my parents’ decidedly ancient and huge Serena – 2nd time I’m driving to and back from there without using my GPS – when I spotted beautiful hues in the sky of the dusk. Cyan-green and light blue hues that fade to black lingered in the sky for a while, and I attempted to capture it when I parked at my teacher’s condo, but clearly, my compact camera wasn’t able to do that very well.

Project 365 #67: Tuesday, 21st April 2009

I was walking with the rest of my coursemates towards the direction of Pizza Hut, SS15 when my mum rang me up, so I had to follow her to my uncle’s office nearby to sign a document before she dropped me off at Starbucks, whereby I walked again towards Pizza Hut.

It was Ken’s birthday! I think it was a belated celebration anyhow.

There were like 18 of us in all – possibly the largest group lunch I’ve ever had since I started college.

Sam, Rebecca, Yen Yee, Khai Shin, sorryidon’tknowhisname. >_>

I wasn’t in any of the pics ‘cause I left my camera with Rebecca while I went off to the nearby Klinik Ooi to register my name first. My blue bottle was in the pic, so that’s testament enough that I was actually there..

Thought this pic was rather cute in a way.

Kenneth, Rebecca, Mun Wah.

The girls preparing a surprise birthday cake downstairs.

Posing with the cake.

Walking up the stairs.

The birthday boy. Incidentally I don’t think I’ve ever talked to him prior to this celebration. <_< In fact I felt like I was intruding lol.

Group photo! Too bad Mun Wah was blurred as she was moving swt.

We had an incredibly long break from roughly 10.30am till 4.30pm, so we spent our time either at the library. After our lunch earlier, we also went to check out the LASIK surgery booth at our college’s concourse – it’s rather expensive though. :/

Project 365 #68: Wednesday, 22nd April 2009

I was at my Macroeconomics 2 tutorial earlier from 8am, and it ended fairly early at around 9.20am – not many students attended it too. I ended up going to the library to go online and do some revision, but ended up chatting with Matt for 2 hours+ continuously. 10 minutes before my next tutorial class commenced at 12.30pm, I ate Cantonese Yee Mee again (no big surprise here..) at the cafeteria by myself before heading off for class.

Snapped this again at the library lol, when Mun Wah was trying to prevent her pic from being taken.

---

I close the shutters of my eyelids, and let my mind fill the space of my imagination with darkness, like how water fills up a jug. And in this expanse of vivid black, sit the stars and the galaxies and the planets and the comets and the blackholes, and I soon come to realise that this is the universe, and I was playing the role of an omniscient, omnipotent being, observing the universe like a cinema-goer would watch a movie unfold.

From this point of view, this exponentially infinite mass of black is condensed into a flat 2D imagery, and I zoomed out from this view till the entire universe is the size of my palm, and from this point onwards, it’s hard to imagine what happens next, what more wrapping your head around such a magnificent vast body of space. What is outside the universe? If the growth of the universe is limitless, surely it needed a certain portion of empty space for it to grow, and if so, does that mean that our universe is contained within a box-like structure?

I try to imagine what god would be like – does this being watch over only planet Earth? The notion that there are no other organisms in our universe seems almost laughable and shockingly cocky – within such unrestrained amount of space spanning trillions of light years long, surely it seems not plausible that Earth was the only ‘accident’ in the birth of a planet that spawn organisms? Then does god watches over other presumably existing organisms too? Does god look at the universe as I do, like a kid watching over his playpen?

I tried to imagine, too, how – if there really is such a powerful existence – god came into being. How did the universe even begin? What comes before the theoretical Big Bang? A big blank white? The more I tried to imagine it, the more the universe disappears and before I knew it, I was staring at a blank empty white in my head. What comes before this void?

I asked myself these questions even when I was a child, and till now, I’m still fumbling at these. What if in reality, we’re as blank as this hypothetical white space, that we really do not exist?

my mates n i went to france to participate in a management game for our 2-week residency programme…after the game, we spent the rest of our ‘’vacation’’ exploring paris, toulouse and foix…so many nice things to buy yet so lil money…sigh..

dun worry, u’ll survive in france as long as u know how to speak basic french and willing to eat baguette for breakfast, lunch and dinner…
