I wanted to relate a curious experience before I write more about the topic above, though I should’ve done that few days back. I think the impact isn’t there because right now, I’m feeling a little sad.
Was walking around with my Kimia book at a small supermarket in Kajang, and when this saleslady asked me to try their Omega 3 milk thingy - which I did - she commented in Cantonese that I’m being extraordinarily hardworking (simply because I’ve done zilch studies for the past weeks). She said that I don’t have to bring a book around while shopping, but further commented that she’s a Science student too and studied Chem before, and asked whether I went for rigorous tuition classes (of course not).
Okay that didn’t have the effect that I wanted. Because it’s totally irrelevant to what I wanna say.
To those of you who are not in my school, a Form 5 guy called Dominic recently passed away in a motorcycle accident (crashed into a tree while trying to avoid a car). He was said to be on the way to a church function, about 8am.
I was um, detained ‘cause I was late to school (darned bicycle chain refused to work whilst I was getting on it), and when Pn Rubiah announced this (kinda know it was coming, from May Yee’s MSN and Poh Yuen’s), I felt a surge of sadness ya know.
I barely know this guy, but somehow this death indirectly concerns me. I’m pausing about while typing this, thinking, thinking and thinking. Like what might be his last thoughts before his bike crashed into the tree. Cynical me.
What pisses me is that some people from my school can be so fucking insensitive. This particular idiot was rambling on saying how rude he was when visiting the koperasi, and shits like that. This poor guy is dead, give him a fucking break. Regardless of what he had done.
I’d like to quote a fellow forumer from GameFAQs, when I had a “In memory: Dominic” topic up.
Rest in peace. You have my condolences. Doesn’t matter how well you knew him - the fact is that you did, and you should feel happy for having known that person and celebrate his life. It is understandable that you would be upset about it, especially given his age. Death is an unfortunate reality that all of us must face, and it is always tragic when we are reminded of that fact by someone so young.
