11 Feb 2005 7:17 pmOn the night of 10th Feb, Thursday at 10pm, went over to Shawn’s house and gambled with Shawn, Heng Li, Shawn’s sis and her friend. Kinda fun, although I expected a huge crowd with the likes of his relatives, like last year. Still, it’s fun - and I think I lost a few ringgit.
But as Holland drew England, I got RM5 from Shawn (that 1/4 ball he gave helps!). 30 minutes of gambling later, Shawn’s sis and her friend went out..so the three of us continued Blackjack for a little while and stopped when Shawn ran out of cash.
And we watched telly..some Chinese show (Anna something something)..MTV Asia Aid..Watched till almost 1am when HL’s mum called and he gotta go home. So we walked home… and it was pretty much quiet. The silence is really something. Not that eerie, as I had thought – amazing for me.
Earlier on that afternoon, was out at my uncle’s house (the same man who bought that fireworks). He’s rich, a nice house it is. Relatives speaking in Teochew/Mandarin/Cantonese didn’t help at all, and I soon slept on the sofa staring at the telly (HBO) screening some movie starring Adam Sandler.
I’ve no idea how long I slept, but mum and uncle ushered me to sleep upstairs, as a horde of people will be coming soon. I was half-awake, and I trotted up the stairs for the first time at his house, and slept at my cousin Melissa’s bed. With air-con. Bliss…
I think I slept for 4 hours, from 2-6pm, and we had to go back to my grandma’s place… didn’t really do anything, so I read my Econs up (which I brought along, thankfully). Which was when Shawn phoned me asking if I’d like to go his house to gamble…At about 9pm we went back home.
And next day, 11th Feb, did nothing eventful. Some family friend came and visited, then I slept through the entire visit of my uncle (the same said uncle above) and grandma. So I practically slept throughout the afternoon, trying to read my Econs.
Finished downloading 20th Century Boys and I’m pretty happy. Just finished reading volume 16 – hell, Naoki Urusawa’s a genius. HL was out at cafe for about 6 hours, and he said it was initially – gasp, empty! XD And the bus is 90% Malays. And newspaper said the streets of KL were full of foreigners, like Bangladeshis and Indonesians…
3:12 AM now and I’m still awake, with a slight stomach ache. Might be because of that Pepsi I’ve been drinking too much. *goes downstairs to get some "poh chai yin"*
