It’s a Sony (Cybershot DSC-W50)!

It was on Saturday night when my conversation with my parents switched to the topic of “it’s high time to get a new digital camera”. I cited reasons of bringing a bulky camera along is extremely inconvenient, blurrish pics for most of the time, etcetc, and they asked me to follow them to some warehouse sale the next day. I agreed, thinking nothing about it.

Earlier this morning, I went with my parents to this warehouse sale in Oldtown PJ (or something like that). It’s not your standard sale ala Carrefour/Giant’s extremely cheap electronic gadgets but shoddy workmanship and break down after a week of usage. They sell branded digital cameras and mobie phones, and even iPod nano 2GB for about RM850.

It being the last day and all, I scouted around for digital cameras. Most of them didn’t meet my fancy as they’re either too bulky for my taste, or didn’t have the anti-shake/image stabiliser thingy. IIRC, the only brand that has it is Canon and Casio. >_>

But you see, I fell in love with this beautiful black beauty. Love at first sight they say, because she is so slim, so shiny, so very delicately tasty with her tiny frame but large LCD screen (2.5”). She doesn’t have that anti-shake features (according to the salesperson, snapping pictures with low light won’t result as much blur compared to other cameras), so I lapped it up because that’s what I wanted to hear.

So I decided to get it on the spot. My very own Sony Cybershot DSC-W50.

My first picture snapped with the camera.

Unfortunately, I had to resize the photos using Photoshop as they are too large for my CMS to upload. Wtf. The picture is at about 1.7MB. Bloody hell. Thrice the size of my old pictures. And I’m gonna be pissed if this problem isn’t resolved. >_>

It’s priced at RM1,200, supposedly RM100 cheaper than sold outside, but it comes with a free 256MB Memory Stick Duo, RM30 screen protector, and some printing vouchers I don’t care for. 6 megapixels camera, jolly good.

Let’s not get too technical. I would’ve gotten more professional cameras but those come at an even pricer price tag, and all I want is a simple point-and-shoot camera that produces nice photos to look at, without being frustrated with the various aperture and shutter settings (although admittedly they are fun to tinker with, at times).

So I’ve decided to camwhore with my new baby, which is infinitely easier to do than my previous bulky camera.

I am obviously elated. Pardon me for not being photogenic.

And another shot.

I was supposed to pay the full price of it by myself, but my parents could sponsor half of it, so yay. :D

There were also tons of ants that seem to crawl on the walls out of nowhere in my toilet. I didn’t thought much of it, because reasons are limited to:

- someone eating sweet shite in the toilet (ew)
- me having diabeties?

The latter was shocking, of course, and after telling my parents about the ant problem which had been plaguing my toilet for almost a week, my mum suggested the possibility of me having diabetis. My grandma and uncle was a diabetic..so…

We went to the clinic and got myself checked. I was expecting a urine test, but doc used this swift needle-poking device thing that you didn’t feel a thing to take a swab of my blood. Using the glucometer that shows that my glucose level (or something) was at 3.7, compared to the diabetic level of 5.5, I was obviously safe and healthy.

To think I had drank copious amount of water to pee for the supposedly urine test. And to think that if I actually have diabeties (touch wood), I thought it might be due to me going to the mamak very so often and drink their overtly-sweet drinks.

It has been a good day messeurs and madamoiselle, for I have purchased one of my must-have items impulsively, and Hidden Street will be back up (hopefully) in one or two days’ time. And the joy in indulging in Kingdom Hearts II.

Now I don’t need to trouble Kai Tzin or anyone with bags, whenever we go out, to store my bulky camera with them.
