Japanese night out

An all-guys night out yesterday (there wasn’t one for a long time) -- with an additional member being Toshi to the crew!

After solving Wai Hong’s transport problem at the last minute (typical, heh), me, Heng and Jon picked Toshi up at Wai Hong’s house (who was supposed to go to tuition) and we headed straight for SS15 by Jon’s dad’s car.

We sort of got used to each other’s presence now, and I felt a certain kind of fondness for this Japanese dude. While in the car, he knocked my shoulder with his Japanese fan, I turned around and he looked at me woefully and said, “Kureman, only seven days.” (Best Japanese-accented English around.) I understood the fact that he has only seven days left (counting from yesterday) to spend with us.

Pushing aside this rather forceful fact, we walked first to this T-shirt printing shop to discuss things about our Hidden Street tee. At one point, while we’re at the upstairs of the shop, he told Heng Li, “In Japan,” and pulled his pants a little lower, revealing his boxers, and said, “Japanese style.” He was teaching Heng how to dress. XD

WarnetX was our next destination, and we sat down at the cafe to play CS and Unreal Tournament. (“In Japan,” Toshi told me, “Internet cafe is very expensive.” “3000 yen?” “More than that.”)

At about 8:40pm, we continued to walk to Salmon Steak and ordered drinks while waiting for Wai Hong. After Wai Hong arrived, we ordered our food from the jovial Indonesian waitress, and after a while it was then Toshi realised he left his Japanese fan at the aforementioned cafe. I was partially guilty at this, ‘cause I saw his fan next to his mouse about a minute before we left, and completely forgot to remind him to this.

We had a good laugh with his antics and Wai Hong’s stories ‘bout Toshi’s stay in his house, especially Toshi’s durian encounter. Apparently, he was all excited and hyped up to eat one, took a bite, paused for a bit, spat it out and cried for water. XD He also told us, “In Japan. Fuck, and shit. Same meaning.”

We finished our food rather late at almost 10 or so, as the food arrived quite late. We headed for Asia Cafe’s pool (piiriado - billiard), and stayed there playing several rounds of it for about an hour. The hilarious part was when I teamed up with Toshi, and actually won against both Heng Li and Jon. :D

Then of course.. we did the unbelievable. We walked back all the way to the Shell station near Summit, until Wai Hong’s mum picked us up. On the way, we passed by smelly monsoon drains and inhaled all the carbon monoxide of the world, with Toshi and me singing to m-flo loves YOSHIKA - Let Go like a bunch of drunkards.

We reached Wai Hong’s house a little past midnight. Believe me when I say that we had the time of our lives (before SPM, that is), and I’m sure that I will be missing the Japanese dude when he leaves.
