15 Jan 2006 3:34 pmAfter blogging for several hours yesterday about the Langkawi trip from the time I woke up at about 12pm and taken my lunch, I went out again at about 8pm supposedly to the local mamak with Shawn, Heng, Andy, Jess and Esther in Shawn’s car (more squeezing again at the back seats).
We went to Asia Cafe again instead, and the guys who originally wanted to watch footie (ManC trampling ManU 4-1) could hardly do so due to the distance of the projected screens and televisions. We related our Langkawi tales to Shawn and Heng instead.
Shawn’s entire family save for her eldest sister dropped by at Asia Cafe too. We went on to play foosball (don’t recall ever played it before prior to this in my entire life), and after waiting for a long time for a table to play pool, we gave up and went to Jess’ house instead..where we snacked outside her place and chit-chatted up to 1am.
Interesting.
Left out one tiny detail about the Langkawi trip.
The blue Wira we had was christened by Esther and Jess as ‘BengLian’ due to the blue neon light it had inside. Very..ahbeng-ish. In fact, should we proceed to wind down our windows, blast loud techno music while our hands were left outside the window, we would bring this degenerating culture to Langkawi.
I’m having a slight withdrawal symptom after Langkawi. Don’t ask me why. Both Kai Shen and Daniel now wants another holiday trip planned, if possible around mid-April, the former due to him studying at college and has a term break at that time.. now that everyone else has officially left high school and parted ways to their own institute of education or currently planted in the workforce for some cheap labour, I honestly don’t expect us to keep in contact again.
Maybe after what most of us have experienced after primary school (lost in contact with primary friends, barely know each other even when you are such close friends with said people) made me think this way. Would friendships bloomed from high schools last?
Maybe it’s too early to say. Most of you would think I’m crazy but I’m joining the few crazy high school leavers to school tomorrow morning. The girls are going because it’s our dear Ruby’s birthday, but my reason (and Andy’s) is.. we miss school.
“OH IT’S ONLY ONE MONTH!”
Most people say their best experience in life has been in high school, and for the less than two decades I lived I’d have to say it’s the same.
Yep, and another vacation together with a bunch of people you know for almost 5 years (or less) would be really fun. Up for it?
