Masquerade

Went out for some Leo Garden thingy again yesterday for about 3 hours; picked up plants at Auntie Maggie’s house in USJ1 in the Serena. Then did some studying at Burger King with Heng Li and Shawn from 1.30 till 6pm… and had to go to some boring relatives’ gathering again, but turned out to be not so bad at all as I got to drive all the way to KL =]. The tension of the world befell me the moment I see a bloody roundabout >_>, and almost rammed into a car.

I did feel a little excited, euphoric, all like a little kid as I looked forward to attend Sri KL’s IU with its theme ‘Starry Starry Masquerade’.

Turns out only ONE person was wearing a mask - the MC.

7 people miraculously squashed in Eugene’s Kembara (Jon in the boot) as we made our way to Sri KL. A humongous good-looking school it is, with the array of facilities that would have put Rubiah to shame.

The IU started rather late, which wasn’t punctual of ‘em. The primary school (of Sri KL)’s hall was rather nice, air-conditioned, and overall it looked like a church. There was even colourful flashing lights and smoke ala concert. It started with a vibrant dance opening act, followed by bands/duets which was littered with technical difficulties (one guitar too soft, the other singing too loud).

Point of view on my right snapped by Jon who sitting on my left.

There was a break for ONE HOUR where we eat and were allowed (or rather, invited) to dance on the ‘dancefloor’. The crowd went wild and crazy and it soon turned into a nightclub with lots of inane cheers and breakdancing and whatnot. ‘twas interesting to watch.

Apart from them who inadvertently forgot our school twice (during rollcall and souvenir-giving), it was a neat little IU – good enough for their first time (considering it’s a private school with lotsa facilities..==>_>==).

After the interval, the SJ gang did their sketch again and as expected, it was obscene – a masturbatory-obscene-suggestive act (screaming Thailand prostitutes, even) which landed the organising committee into trouble with their school after this event. It WAS hilarious though, and it takes a lot of guts to get up there to perform.

During the dance interval..munching the same ol’ cheap food you get at IUs.

Group pic! This was taken on the ‘balcony’ thingy on top where we can observe all the dancing groove and actions beneath us.

The bands after the interval were much better than previous ones; I personally like The Squares the most, made up of two girls and two guys who played acoustic (great vocals too!). Loved their first song, though I can’t recall the name to it.

The Squares! Not that clear though..

Last band was Ice Lemon Tea, a splendid job well done - liked I’ll Be more than the 2nd song as it suits more to my tastes. >_> Cheerleading as the closing act was..erm, too BLOODY SHORT as I expected not only a minute of performance.

Ah well. Complaints?

Yes, when these three LALAS, one of them prominently known as Lawrence, appeared with their lala attire (Lawrence in his starking bright too-big-for-himself orange shirt) and EXTREMELY SPIKY hair, and worst of all, they sat right in front of me, near us, the innocent, pious u8ers, and sat there for the sole purpose of embarassing the shit out of us.

Why the fuck are they even there. I detest their smirks when they listen to the bands as if they can play any better (and DRESS any better, ugh), and I detest their sole presence, with Lawrence who was too short for his girlfriend, huddling their two heads together IN THE LINE OF MY VISION (read: in front of me). Horrible, vomit-inducing humans.

The offensive vile heads in question. Of course, the focal point of this picture is the stage, but Wai Hong’s camera’s flash couldn’t snap that far and accurately.

We later went to Club 7 (Andy, Daniel, me, Wai Hong, Eugene, Heng Li) but was fully occupied, so they took along my idea to go to Summit immediately instead and meet up with Shawn later.

Andy looking most suave..at least, from the pic taken from my cellphone here.

After eating a very shabby dinner at Cafe Chatterbox near the cinema (consisiting of spicy vege, sausage and lalas, which are my favourite – the original food ones), Shawn came along and with the exception of Daniel and Andy, we all watched XXX2.

Not that bad..had low expectations for it since I thought it would be another macho-man-saves-the-world-with-mass-weapons-of-destruction movie.

Then headed for Tanjung mamak, ate/drank there and had a good chat after Heng got over his pissiness over the Leo Garden (was actually half-disappointed when it had to be called off initially, as I’m lazy to get up at frigging 6 in the morning to work on a garden). When useless-hopeless-greymatter-less phoned, turns out FatV has the key to the toolshed all the while so plan was turned back on.

Went back at 11pm. And it’s almost 12:57am now, 5 hours to rest before I get up again. Chao.
