29th February came and passed, and it was that night that I went with Andy and other collegemates (Jo Vie, Vick Kee who was driving, Steffi, and Ching Ching) to Bryan’s house for his birthday party – if you want to be technically correct, he turned 5 on that day, as opposed to 20.
I didn’t snap pics, but it was nice to be there meeting up with some people from the class of AC2 at Bryan’s ‘new’ house in Hatamas (hahaha yeah it isn’t Hartamas with the ‘r’, it’s somewhere near Cheras), and it was considerably huge. Most of Bryan’s friends and relatives were there, but we didn’t stick around for that long.. we arrived at about 8.30pm thanks to the horrific Federal traffic crawl (Jo Vie waited for us to pick her up since 6pm LOL) and we left about 2 hours later.
Met up with the Family for mamak at Tanjung till about 1am-ish.
Yesterday I went out with Kimberley at about 1.30pm, my ex-classmate of WCL, a now defunct school that used to teach classes such as Speech & Drama where I was somewhat forced by my parents to participate in. I used to agonise over attending morning classes every Sunday but I suppose it paid off – it has built such a strong foundation for me for my language which I’m quite thankful for, and fleeting bits of memories related to “ways to writing good English essays” would occasionally surface before being buried again by another wave of thoughts.
But I digress – so yeah I was out with her to meet with our ex-teacher, Mr. Chin San Sooi, who he himself is a somewhat popular director and playwright of Malaysia. We first met up with him at The Curve’s Borders’ entrance (I thought he looked older than he was before, if it was possible, but otherwise he didn’t change at all – it was definitely different seeing him then as a 11-year-old kid than seeing him now as a more grown-up ex-student), before moving on to Marché for lunch – my first time being there; and I liked its concept which lived up to its name, a French word for ‘market’. You’re basically given a paper to go around the ‘market’ looking for any food you desire, and at the respective stalls where you wish to purchase from, your paper will be stamped.
We had a nice long chat dabbling in various interesting topics, ranging from politics and the upcoming election (“Abdullah’s era is far worse than when Mahathir was in power”) to the more personal. In fact we didn’t even realise it was already 5pm that Kim had to cut Mr. Chin short and then we left – bill came to RM100.xx which was split between me and Kim; we had earlier agreed to treat our English mentor.

Kim,, Mr. Chin, and me in front of the Borders before we parted ways.
I bought a book with Kim – Veronika Decides to Die by Paolo Coelho – under Borders’ 2 for 3 promotion so we could get a cheaper price each, and then she kindly dropped me at 1 Utama.
Whilst I was eating and chatting earlier at Marché, I received a call from Jeremy and traded SMSes with Kean Gin – they told me that they were going to have Siew’s farewell dinner at Chilli’s 1U, which was why I decided to drop by since it was fairly near to The Curve.
Since I arrived very early at 6pm and they were departing from Subang at 6pm itself, I walked around MPH and purchase another further two books – Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-up Bird Chronicle and Elliot Perlman’s the reason I won’t be coming, the latter I’ve been wanting to purchase for a very long time. With nothing else to do – especially when Chilli’s policy was they “cannot seat incomplete parties” – I went to find an empty wooden bench to sit down and read a dozen or so pages from Veronika Decides to Die before Jeremy phoned me, indicating to me that they have arrived.
We had to wait for 20 minutes till we could get seats, but that time was easily passed by talking and talking – plus we had to wait till the rest turned up anyway.

May Yee and May Peng.

Can’t really see everyone in this picture – Eu Jin was blocked by Gary’s hand and Jeremy was sitting opposite Kean Gin.

One of the new dishes of Chilli’s, Skyrocket (can’t remember exactly) Fish Fillet – it was quite good, with some sourish sauce. RM29ish.

May Yee asking the servers for spoons or something.

Group picture minus Eu Jin, who left early.

Spontaneous shot.
We were told nicely and in an indirect way by the manager or something to.. basically get lost haha, ‘cause we were there for a long time and we didn’t order desserts or anything. So we left and walked to Baskin Robbin’s.

On the way to Baskin’s.. spotted some long-lost primary friend of Siew’s gang.. Mio or something.

Kean Gin’s dream car.. or so May Yee was saying lmao. A picture of him in a Volkswagen.

At Baskin’s.. which I couldn’t eat when they ordered a pint because I used up my Lactaid pills in Marché eating some cheesy Italian dish I forgot the name to. ![]()

In the pint were two flavours.

Failed Group Pic #1: Siew’s spoon blocked Gary’s face.

Failed Group Pic #2: May Yee’s face was partially blocked by May Peng’s face.

Took us three attempts to finally get to something decent.

May Yee and Gary.

Me and Kean Gin.
After another pic was snapped, my camera’s batteries ran out. We left at about 10.30pm, after saying goodbyes and such to Siew who would be flying off to Langkawi tomorrow to finally begin his piloting course. I then went to tumpang Kean Gin’s car together with May Yee, chatting away about travelling – a topic I’m very passionate about.
Yeah I went out for nearly an entire day on Saturday – there goes my weekends to outings like these.
