Today, I was reminded of Toshi.
As I entered the class, skipping today’s assembly for some English extra class I wasn’t even aware there is, large block letters ‘THANK YOU’ filled the blackboard. Beneath it, a cursive writing of someone’s: “I don’t know how to say thank you. By Toshimitsu.”
In fact, his presence was constantly reminded. When I woke up, ate my breakfast, showered, and while taking my keys, his name card was left carelessly on my bookshelf. And when I took my bag, his signature was displayed clearly on the back of it. Memories of happier times we – the entire gang – shared flooded in.
I’m sounding as if he died or something, at this point, but distance does that to everyone I guess.
I had wanted the Lions of Himeji Minami banner that hanged in the class but Suet beat me to it. I took the neat little badge instead as a memento.
Maybe I should dump all these things into a box and have them sealed. And the memories with it.
