23 Dec 2004 2:06 pmModblog was down for sometime so I couldn’t post. =/
Anyways, two days back (Tues, 21st Dec 2004), went over to Suet’s house with Heng Li at about 8pm - Jon arrived at about 8.20. Sarah was already there, so we waited for Jess who came at almost 9pm.
We tried Paycheck, but it wouldn’t load on Jon’s PS2, so we started off with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which Suet or Jon or both had said was a comedy. Jon and I laughed the most mostly, not because it’s funny, but some scenes were absurd (==>>==). The movie was confusing, scenes jumbled up here and there (director’s style I presume), and that’s about it. Love story; Jim Carrey was a great actor.
I like this particular quote:
“How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d.” – Alexander Pope
That quote was in the show, pretty nifty I think, recited by lovely Kirsten Dunst.
Next movie..it was Kingpin. It was going on nicely till the DVD skips here and there and malfunctioned (==>>==). I think we tried Trainspotting next, which was riddled with foul language and the UK accent (nice to listen to - the accent I mean), and after it starts to make no sense and more sex scenes appear, Jon turned it off.
Then About a Boy. Funny in a witty way, and I like it :D A UK movie as well. It ended at about 1.25am (Heng Li left earlier at 12am, and Esther arrived shortly after).
Jon and I went back to my house..we worked a bit on a new banner for our MapleStory site (so if you’re a MapleStory player, have a look :P – item/monster lists, etc): Hidden Street
At 3am we decided to stop. And played my bro’s Xenosaga Episode 1 savefile to view the ending.
We finally slept at 4.30am, and woke up at 1:20pm next day. XD
