19 Jul 2006 3:58 pmThings are running against the clock as I press my books to my face to feign hardworking-ness.. we were just informed today that next week would be our Malaysian Studies mid-term exam, while the following week will have our other four dreaded exams.

Yesterday was Andy’s turn to present his oral topic, and he was visibly nervous and started talking nonsense to counter his nerves.
Both Bryan and I were the human door-keepers, since there are some students absent and our lecturer didn’t want any latecomers to disrupt the presentation.
After concluding our presentation for the day, Ms Tina decided to shake our nerves up even more by saying that our next (group) presentation will be in front of 60-70 other fellow batch AC students. *shudders*

Everyone else was wearing formal for the presentations while I was wearing something quite out of place when I sat next to them.
The whole lot of us from group AC2 went in three different cars to Taipan, to find a place to sit down and lepak. We first dropped by at Old Town Kopitiam, former -hell-workplace of mine and Andy’s, and we first greeted Jope, our ex-colleague from Myanmar. He looked confused and uncertain at first, but after remembering who both of us were he was completely elated. In fact he looked so deliriously happy and excited that it seemed a bit awkward that I could only smile. In fact there was another Myanmar colleague/friend of us who weren’t there, and the funny thing was one of them could only speak a fraction of English while the other one could only speak a little bit of Malay and I forgot who speaks what.
After Jope muttered something cryptically in Burmese or in some other language I know not of, he asked us in broken Malay macam mana lu?
We didn’t stay for long as some of the girls thought the food was a little bit pricey so they suggested a certain place which, logically, has to be cheaper if this Kopitiam is expensive.
Tralalalala you can never guess. :D
STARBUCKS!
I would go on exaggeratedly how I’d feel the pinch of Starbucks eating into my wallet since the last visit to any Starbucks was at least a year ago. But hey why not, I thought, I could at least give the latest Java Nut drink a try while I’m there.

The drink in the middle is my Java Nut, medium-sized methinks as the Indian girl at the counter kept going “it’s only an additional RM1 for a slightly larger size!” so yeah why the hell not, after all the very convincing aspect of paying additional moolah to obtain a larger cubic per centimetre of Starbucks. In the end it costs about an exciting amount of RM15.xx after tax, which I dubbed it as the four-mamak-sessions-in-one.

With free board games available for us to tinker to our hearts content, we decided to play the Uno Stacko-wannabe game and rule-less Scrabble where any possible word could qualify - something casual to relax our minds.

We didn’t play the congkak because many pieces of stones were missing.
Other people who are not in the pictures I posted who were with us were Justin, Thien Thien and Jo Vie.
That would probably be my last trip to Starbucks, not because it was extremely pricey (okay lah, maybe partly) but because when I got home, I had all the tell-tale signs of my lactose intolerance acting on my bowels that were so excruciatingly unpleasant, that describing them in detail would be akin to raping your eyes and mind as you vomit in utter disgust.
Lao saiiiiiiii ahhhhhhhhhhh fucking dammit.
This will sound totally stupid but I didn’t know that the whipped cream I so graciously said “yes please” when asked by the Indian girl if I would like them with my RM15 beverage is made out of cow’s milk!! Or the fact that milk could’ve been added into my sinfully delicious Java Nut (well, worth the price I guess if you don’t go here very often) since it contained coffee after all.
If I ever drop by at Starbucks again, I’ll make sure I order something else, or ask for soy or something else instead to replace the milk. Someone from the forum I frequent told me that I could request for soy or lactaid and “they’ll substitute for you”. @__@
Today, during a short break for our Malaysian Studies when I played with Andy’s sensuu (Japanese fan) for the first time, I flicked it a few times trying to master the art of flicking Japanese fans and BLOODY HELL something inside it broke and the folded cloth thingy unravel itself like a mandate from god.
=____=
Andy was unbelievably pissed. :(
About 80% of other students actually went back home during the break since he had finished lecturing, but for those who stayed back, he gave us plenty of ramalan sorta questions (aka, leaked), wheee :D
Time to be stuffed with accounting.
