Not the end of the world

Missing out three days worth of posts, so here’s the rundown.

On Friday the (in)auspicious 13th, the audition was okay, didn’t really watch other performances as we were trying to practise The Good Kind. Raessa was suddenly in the band at the last minute, and we spent about 20 minutes practising with the new addition of a member and work on Fatin’s singing.

For a last minute practice (we only have two short practices in total), I thought we didn’t do that bad, even though Fatin went on a falsetto accidentally at chorus XD

Jess said we can play two songs (I think maybe the audition “judges” were impressed with Fatin’s voice), so as Jon went back, Raessa suggested Wonderwall and Fatin Belaian Jiwa. In the end Belaian Jiwa was chosen as our 2nd song… and our band name was still undecided (the two girls suggested ‘Flamboyant Melody’, derived from their band’s name >_>). At night, Jon and I thought The Good Kind wouldn’t be that bad of a name for us, even though yes, it’s the very song we’re gonna play.

Went for some Hari Kecermelangan yesterday which was pretty boring. The moment I reached the school gate at about 8.30am, Pn Rubiah herself and other teachers with important titles appeared at the front gate with a whole battalion of troops from various uniformed units. Geez, such a huge fuss over an insignificant event, just because an equally unimportant MP of Kelana Jaya would be here.

Got an RM20 MPH voucher and a cert, so wasn’t that bad. But May Wan and several others got RM20 CASH for each excellently scored subject and stuff. ;_;

Gardening yesterday was rather minimal, so can’t really count it as gardening. Heng Li, Shawn and I went to BK for our usual study group from 1-6pm; it’s the only time I actually sit down and study for more than an hour. >_> Studied Chem mostly, but couldn’t concentrate because of the cold and stupid noisy idiots beside us laughing instead of studying (they brought books). Shawn and Heng taught me Chem (actually did EXERCISES, which I normally wouldn’t do), while I taught them Add Maths..so it works round, nicely. :)

Then we walked back to Shawn’s house and had dinner there with his family (and cousin sis)..food was nice. Before that, watched an episode of that insane Viva La Bam show he downloaded, Season 4… and went back at about 9pm. The entire day gone.

Near midnight mum jumped on me and proceeded with the litany of scoldings, out of nowhere. Her first reason was my music was too loud and I was being SELFISH and INCONSIDERATE (my music was nowhere near loud, especially if compared to Heng or Jon). And then bitched the hell out of me that I no longer spend time with my family, etcetcetc and mentioned I might move out next time and leave the family alone… bah, I wonder when CAN she let go. Let go. I’m not being completely ignorant of my family’s existence.

Woke up at 7.30am by Heng’s phone call, after ignoring my phone’s 7am alarm. The bed felt nice and cold and felt reluctant to go, but in the end I went at about 8:20am… only to find Heng Li, Auntie Maggie and her two children.

>.<

Geok Leng and her bro came later..and at 11am Ryui Bynn popped by out of nowhere, looking for Shawn who wasn’t there.

Very poor turnout but at least we did accomplished something, and the weather was being kind to us with its cloudy shades and wind. Digged holes and planted yam plants and mother of the north tongues. Went back at close to 1pm with blisters and probably picoounce of additional muscles. And very tired mind.

Slept for only 20 minutes before I was awakened by my mum to go to Subang Parade as my maid wanted to get new clothes for herself and children. Grudgingly drove there with the usual annoying nags. I asked earlier in the morning whether I can drive to school. “No.” With that I went off by bicycle without enquiring why as I’m tired and sick of asking and questioning their mindset.

Bought an RM59.90 (before the RM20 discount) book, entitled Not the End of the World by Kate Atkinson. It has a very interesting cover, and me, being the sucker for good covers and interesting book titles, bought it >_> (dad’s money, ‘course). It looks like a fantasy-related novel, but the title definitely caught my eye… and reminds me of the equally expensive book I bought, most of us are here against our will, an interesting collection of short stories written in a most intruging manner about gay men, depression, family dysfunction.

I like dark stuffs, though it doesn’t mean I’m all gloomy.
