Celebrating Chinese New Year with my close friends have been heaps of fun – that’s compared to me playing Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings on my DS for 7 hours straight at my grandma’s house on the first day of the new year because I have nothing else better to do.
On the 2nd day of CNY last Friday which also coincided with Shawn’s birthday, Ding picked me and Esther up and we met up with the rest who didn’t return to their kampungs at Shawn’s house. As the three of us were among the first few to arrive at about 7.30pm, we feasted on the available BBQed food that Yen was hard at work preparing us – that’s BBQed lamb, BBQed kebab, and BBQed chicken wings for our initial meal. Even Shawn and Heng weren’t at home when we arrived as both were out to pick up Shawn’s college friends and a lecturer.

Esther, Heng, Ding – Heng was at Shawn’s house much earlier than us helping out with the preparations.

Snapped this picture when my hands were oily from aforementioned BBQ food galore, hence the blurriness.

Esther and I.
And slowly, everyone else started to arrive – Sze Vien, Wai Hong, Fang Chyuan, Jess, Xin Min, and Angela in that order. We also gave Shawn a Nike bag as a birthday present, an RM149 gift shared between me, Sze Vien, Andy (who wasn’t around), Ding, and Fangki. Naturally we also gambled on Blackjack and Shawn’s mum started an improbable winning streak that kept doubling up her winnings each time consecutively wtf.

Shawn’s ‘early’ birthday present from Heng, Jess, and Xin Min as they have yet to buy the real present for him – it says “FAT PEOPLE R HARDER 2 KIDNAP!” LOL, with the accompanying picture of a bald, shirtless man aptly resembling him.

Esther and Jess.

Group picture minus Jess and Angela and Xin Min – Shawn looked like a cute baby in this pic wtf.

Another group pic with all 10 of us of the u8 gang here.

All of us plus Xin Min. If you look closely (as spotted by Angie), the girls were all wearing black, but the guys were in pairs.. eg: Shawn + Wai Hong, me + Fangki, Heng + Daniel wtf.

Erm ok yeah.

That’s a rather high Fangki behind Angela and Shawn.

Angie kissing the bottle of Scotch (also notice Fangki’s euphoric expression in the background).

Watching television at 1.44am.

A visibly drunk Fangki writhing on the floor at 2.14am WTF.
Fangki drunk vol 2 – him trying to fix a rocking chair’s outer cushions thingy that WH accidentally ‘broke’.

Drunk Fangki leaning onto Heng who was busy playing my DS.

Drunk Fangki busy pulling Daniel’s leg hairs HAHAHAHA.
And a series of other actions I shall not comment upon which include pulling Esther’s bra strap and whacking her thighs WTF in an alcohol-induced state of mind. I was also sleeping for a bit (as usual, King of Sleep what) while the above actions took place, and all of us finally went back home at about 4am and I slept at 5am.
On the next morning, Wai Hong picked me up at 11.30am to go to Jess’ house where Shawn prepared a tasty brunch for all of us, including Jess’ relatives – there’s aglio olio, some potato soup minus the cream for me (aww thanks Shawn), garlic bread, spicy chicken, and some other spicy dishes which I didn’t try out as I couldn’t stand the spiciness.
We also webcam-ed with Suet via both MSN and Skype as the audio quality from Skype was nearly crystal clear compared to MSN’s rubbish audio; Jess’ dad tempted Suet with some Malaysian food while Jess’ mum gave her angpow via webcam lol (to be kept by Jess till Suet returns). Baby Alexander Koh was also shown to Suet live on webcam, and also of us gambling.

Huhu the only picture I have from our webcam session which was sent over by Suet – I printscreened a few pics in Photoshop but I didn’t save them when I shut down my laptop. =.=

And then we gambled (Esther arrived rather late at about 12.30pm or 1). Halfway through we watched X-Men: The Last Stand on TV.

While eating customary Chinese New Year tidbits.

And also while eating slices of cucumber wtf – the way Ding was sitting with the plate of cucumbers made him look like a poor homeless man lol.

Ding, Shawn, me.
At about 6pm, Shawn had to leave for dinner in Klang while Jess and Heng were going to have dinner with Xin Min at Pizza Uno – the rest of us then decided to join them there as we didn’t have dinner as well.

Esther and I.

Ding and Jess.
Mahal sungguh Pizza Uno it was like RM30+ on average per person for the food we ordered, although I’ve to admit it was actually delicious.

Gambling continued at Jess’ house after dinner where I was on a lucky streak that at the end of it all at 1.30am, I won RM107 in total lol.
The next day on Sunday, the gang dropped by at my house at about 3.30pm for another gambling session.. and I distributed back RM70 back to the rest lol (Ding also arrived late so he missed out a large part of my losing streak).
Then at 6.30pm, when my own relatives started to drop by at my house for dinner with my other family members, I went out with the gang to Bagan Lalang for dinner (that’s one hour’s drive one way, mind you) at the same seafood restaurant that Shawn brought some of us to before last week in PD. We didn’t exactly use the Sepang way as Shawn wanted to try some other route, and consequently, we were stopped by a police car wtf when it continued to tailgate us and flashed its blue and red lights.
So we stopped by the roadside and anticipated all manners of bad things that were to come as we were clearly in the wrong – there were 6 of us (Shawn, Heng, me, Ding, Jess, Esther) in the Saga meant for 5, and Shawn was adamant that he wasn’t going to pay a single sen to the policemen, bribery or otherwise. After checking our ICs (Esther was damn kancheong as she thought she didn’t bring hers) and asking where we were heading to (Shawn lied that we were heading back to kampung to Sungai Pelik wtf), we were then let off without warning and we all heaved a big sigh of relief.

Esther camwhoring while waiting for our food to arrive.

Me and Ding.

Heng and Shawn.

Esther and Jess again.

Esther and Ding.

Me with Ding scooping up rice.
We had a scrumptious meal – there were 2 plates of sweet and sour lala, 2 plates of fish cooked in 2 different ways, 1 plate of fried squid, 8 pieces of pari bakar (stingray), 1 small plate of kangkung belacan and 1 larger plate of the same vege meant for 3 people, and a plate of kailan (some type of vege). All in all it costed us about RM20/person (total bill was RM124), which was only slightly more expensive than our previous trip with 5 persons here.

Jess and Esther in the car on the way back – with me busy playing my DS.

Ding and Jess.

Jess, Esther, me – the girls were so bored as there weren’t much to do in the car that they decided to camwhore around.

The largest arrow signboard we’ve ever encountered thus far (pic made it look less than impressive, it was really enormous in real life).
Esther also had to hold her pee for a very long time (she also described it as the worst experience of having to tahan her pee since Form something) while we tried to locate for a rest stop – she also said that if we can’t find a rest stop for her she would either:
1) pee in the car
2) pee at the road side
Hilarity ensued when you have friends like us making light of her predicament (that includes Jess wtf as you will see in the video). This video depicts the final moments of her torture when we entered into Dengkil rest stop (Shawn was saying earlier whether she wanted us to go to the rest stop that was 5km away or 19km away LOL).
I finally reached home at 11pm, and that put an abrupt stop to my week-long Chinese New Year holidays that I was just beginning to enjoy, after 3 consecutive days of going out and about nearly non-stop. I seriously wonder how long this annual tradition of ours would continue to last – some of us would soon pack up their bags and fly to some place else.
