9 Jan 2006 10:53 amHave you ever listened to a song so many times, that it grows on you more and more? What if the song is in a foreign language, anyway? Passion – the theme song for the game Kingdom Hearts II (already released in Japan, and the English version is reportedly due for release in March this year), has a varying degree of in-depth meaning to this beautiful piece.
Wai Hong bought the Passion single (CD+DVD) for about RM48 from Japan as I had requested - listening to it all over again reignites the passion I have for this song (no pun intended).
Lyrics and translation for the song Passion, obtained from animelyrics’ forum:

思い出せば遥か遥か
未来はどこまでも輝いてた
きれいな青空の下で
僕らは少しだけ怯えていた
(wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I)
Omoidaseba haruka haruka
Mirai wa (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) doko mademo kagayaiteta
Kireina aozora no shita de
Bokura wa (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) sukoshi dake obieteita
If I recall, far far away
The future was shining on everywhere
Beneath the beautiful blue sky
We were just a little frightened
Natsukashii iro ni mado ga somaru
The window is tinted a nostalgic color
Mae wo muitereba mata aemasu ka
Mirai wa (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) doko edemo tsuduiterunda
Ookina kanban no shita de
Jidai no (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) utsuroi wo miteitai na
If we advance forth, can we ever meet again?
The future goes on to everywhere
Beneath the large signboard
How I want to watch the times changing
Nido to aenu hito ni basho ni
Mado wo akeru
I will open a window
To the people and places I can’t see again
Omoidaseba haruka haruka
Mirai wa (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) doko mademo kagayaiteta
Kireina aozora no shita de
Bokura wa (wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) itsu mademo nemutteita
If I recall, far far away
The future was shining on everywhere
Beneath the beautiful blue sky
We were slumbering forever
Zutto mae ni suki datta hito
Fuyu ni kodomo ga umareru sou da
Mukashi kara no kimari goto wo
Tama ni utagaitaku naru yo
Zutto wasurerarenakatta no
Nengajou wa shashin tsuki kana
Watashitachi ni dekinakatta koto wo
Totemo natsukashiku omou yo
The person I liked since long ago
I heard will bear a child in winter
What I decided since long ago
I sometimes would want to doubt it
The New Year’s card I could never forget
Is it really like a photograph?
I think very nostalgically
Of what we couldn’t do
All my fears and all our lies…
..Aozora no shita———————
(wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I)

The reversed part I snipped from the beginning of the song, as you can download and listen from here (only 40kb+), turns out she was singing/saying, “I need more affection than you know.”
That’s pretty darned creative on their part, to insert hidden, inversed meanings to the song only to be revealed to those who bothers to go around reversing songs.
Leaving for Langkawi soon and I’m damn excited. I’m almost certain some prediction of tsunami by some bonkers will turn out to be false, but just in case it does happen and we’re swallowed up by tidal waves, I impart my memories to you.
