A trip to the orthodontist didn’t exactly incur any curious incidents, save for today’s. Which I thought was amusing.
As I sat on that dentist’s chair with two pretty college girls acting as his assistants, he started talking to this particular girl I fancied, Valerie. All this while his mouth was shut save for commenting here and there on the geology of my teeth, and today he was surprisingly talkative.
Orthodontist: So who cooked dinner for you?
Valerie: Oh..my boyfriend’s (!) mother..or his brother’s wife..
O: So you don’t know how to cook lah?
V: Hehe *laughs gingerly* Not really.
[more comments about food]
O: I was raised in a family of 11, 13 including my two parents.
V: Wah… so many! Are you the eldest?
O: No, I’m the fourth. Pass me the suction please, girl. *sucksuck*
V: I see..how many boys, how many girls?
O: Four boys, and seven girls. Pass the one-two-eight please, girl.
V: People in the olden days have lots of children it seems..
O: Yeah, there was no television. *laughs* And no contraception, either. Pass the suction again, please, girl.
And so on. All while prodding, adjusting, and working on vile wires on my teeth, and talk about the virtues of having so many children.
SPM trials are now based on tips, so very amusing. Even more amusing when the tips appeared to be 100% correct, but problem lies in me not studying hard enough and not believing in those tips much. Tomorrow’s Physics, expect me to do well. :)
Current favourite song: Nickleback – Photograph
I couldn’t really understand what the singer was singing, until I searched for the lyrics. Turns out to be pretty.. meaningful? The tune was great, the lyrics struck a chord deep.
Every memory of looking out the back doorYou just gotta listen and read/sing to the full lyrics, will definitely make more sense. Reminds me a lot of myself. Makes anyone strangely reminiscent of the good ol’ days. Jon said it’s a suitable song to sing at the end of our Form 5 term. Concurred.
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbyeEvery memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye
As with the title of this entry, I’ll insert some photographs for your memory-refreshing perusal, with accompanying lyrics from Photograph.
