18 Feb 2006 6:23 pmWent to 1Utama today with Wai Hong and Kai Tzin at about 1pm. Even at the Giant traffic light, a massive traffic jam presented itself, all the way to the LDP. Me being the impatient one wasn’t exactly pleased.
Walked around 1Utama, visiting various shops. At one point when we stopped by at the indoor ‘park’, near A&W overlooking below, an overenthusiastic Chinese girl came to us all of a sudden and started talking rapidly in Cantonese. I must’ve stared at her or something, because she joked, “Don’t worry, I’m not crazy!” Wtf.
Turns out to be donation shite (duh), and Wai Hong agreed to pay the RM10 to “sponsor” a kid for a week. Or sommat. We shared the amount later, with the hopes of “zhou hou si yao hou pou”. Heh.

Goddamn hilarious label in a music store.

Yet another funny label in Pet Wonderland. Although the pic didn’t show the animal in question clearly, it’s definitely not a “super small” black rabbit.

If you look extra closely, there’s actually someone inside this transparent ‘cage’ soaping it from within. Kai Tzin called him “a new breed”.
At 5 minutes past 4pm, went to the game shop that a fellow forumer was running at. I had ordered this ‘pirated kit’ (known as Supercard) a month ago, and stock finally arrived. The good ol’ reliable dude did everything for me, from flashing my DS (free), helping me transfer some games (free), and providing me the 1GB SD Card and the Supercard itself for RM450. There goes my salary.
But hey, in the long run, I can play every single DS game just by downloading more from the Net. Yes, I am absolutely ecstatic by the prospect. Games I longed to play like Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World and Sonic Rush can finally be played. Other games I normally won’t consider buying due to their price can also be played at any time. Double woot.
We then went to The Curve after purchasing my DS pirated kit.

Went to Starbucks and sat. Only Kai Tzin bought a drink.

We also walked towards Ikea just to buy the delicious curry puffs that sell for RM1 each. They’re not your average curry puffs, as the puffs in question are huge, and even contain eggs in ‘em.
We walked around some more after that, spending a lot of time in Borders browsing books, laughing at silly questions and answers from the book Why Men Have Nipples, among others.

Upper night view of the bazaar below.
We finally settled at Ton Chan, which despite the funny name, is a Japanese restaurant.

I thought it was pretty sweet and creative.

They didn’t have enough staff members (which reminds me of Old Town Kopitiam a lot), so there were quite a few people around us who were complaining, although we didn’t encounter any problems ourselves.

Simple setting, simple ambience. Nifty looking seats and glasses they have too.

My chisu ramen, or whatever the name was.
We started eating at about 8.30pm and went back half an hour later. Stopped by at Shawn’s house for a mahjong session right up to 11.45pm. Kinda fun, although I won like only twice. >_>
Reached home. And whatdya know, something was missing. If you have been reading my blog closely, you would (or wouldn’t) realise that I was half-heartedly writing it. I wanted to get straight to the point, but telling what I was doing today (or yesterday since it’s already 2:14 AM as I type this) was of utmost importance.
I reached home, and realised that the magnetic earring, which I finally put inside the same wrapping paper Geok Leng and Sarah gave me, was missing. I had earlier put it in the same pocket as my handphone, and I absolutely do not recall taking the handphone out at Shawn’s house. I couldn’t have lost it at The Curve, and if I did, that fucking sucks.
So you see, my previously happy mood was severely disturbed by this loss. One of the two presents I received (the other being Andy’s who gave me a cap on the first day of our Langkawi trip itself) - GONE. LOST.
So I searched from my car right up to my house. I tried backtracking. I tried SMSing Shawn (no reply, presumably he had already slept).
And worst of all, I have no pictures of the item concerned at all - the memories of the earring attached, gone. I can only describe it. Measuring at only about 1cm, it has about four tiny grey circular magnetic items in the middle, followed by two tiny square diamond-like stuffs on either ends. It’s pretty.
YES IT’S FUCKING GONE.
Rant as I can, the earring is gone. It’s not about how I can replace it by buying a new one no matter how much it costs, it’s about the nostalgic elements attached to it. About GL & Sarah.
GAH. Zhou hou si yao hou pou my ass.
