Port Dickson in a Threesome

My friends and I went for a one night Port Dickson trip two days ago – the original idea was forwarded by Shawn who told me one fine Sunday after our Japanese class that his only week of holiday, after working and going to college quite religiously, was this week and there was a delicious restaurant somewhere here he could bring us to.

I asked Shawn repeatedly, “Are you serious?” for the plan was somewhat sudden and unusual – and when he confirmed it with me, I told Ding that very night to book his apartment for us, which he did few days after that.

Fast forward a week or so later Shawn told me that he “can’t go” WTF. “Not the first time I know you lah,” I told him bluntly through MSN. So from the original group comprising me, Shawn, Ding, Andy, and Wai Hong, we were shortened to 4. Then a day before departure on Sunday, Wai Hong SMSed Ding telling him that since Shawn wasn’t going, he didn’t want to go to. =_____= Talk about fei kei jings to the max. In fact, Ding had a nickname for Shawn courtesy of our Japanese class – ひこうきさん (Mr. Aeroplane) LOL.

I won’t mince my words but yes I was quite pissed – Ding didn’t even want to go already, but after a short discussion with Andy we decided to go ahead with the trip even though it was only the 3 of us.

So on bright Monday morning at 11am, I left home to pick up Ding and Andy, and we were all set to go to…

...karaoke at Red Box LOL.

Singing.

RM10++ including lunch with drinks and karaoke quite reasonable right! We sang along to our favourite songs (mostly Andy’s wtf) and by 3pm which was when our session finished, my throat was feeling a little sore even though I didn’t sing as much and as forceful as Andy.

We began our hour-long journey to PD, with Ding guiding me through the fairly simple roads, and when we finally reached Ding’s unit at 12th floor about 4.30pm, I was feeling sleepy and a little tired.

Andy eating some cookies he brought from home and Ding playing his DS.

Panorama view snapped from the balcony at 12th floor – click to enlarge. And we could even see the Corus apartment we rented last year where we hung out on new year’s eve for fireworks and alcohol, which brought back curious memories.

Fairly okay view.

I think the best part of staying at Ding’s unit (it has only one bedroom though) is that the first thing you’ll hear when you wake up is the soft whispers of the sea waves flaying against the beach – that is, if those birds that have made a nest beneath the kitchen window don’t make a commotion first.

I napped for about an hour, played DS – we were all too lazy to head down to the beach or some place else – and waited for Shawn’s call as he was supposed to come along with Ryui Bynn to PD to show us the restaurant which he wanted to bring us to. They did come at about 7pm in Ryui Bynn’s white Myvi, and later we found out that said restaurant that Shawn wanted to bring us to was nearly 1 hour away from where we stayed – we could just as well drove straight back to Subang. >_>

Can’t remember where this seafood restaurant is – at Bagan Lalang or something, a kampung area.

Ordering our food – we get to pick and weigh our seafood on the spot so no overpriced RM80 fish like the one in Langkawi wtf.

Great dinner I must say, and it’s fairly cheap for the food we ordered – asam fish, two plates of fried squids, stingray, prawns, and vege, totalled up to nearly RM120 for the 5 of us. And after chit-chatting for a while (and some porn transfer wtf), at about 10pm we decided to leave by tailing Shawn’s car until the T-junction that led us back to PD.

Reached Ding’s apartment at about 11pm plus – us looking at the sea. I took a shower, while the rest were too busy playing DS (or Ding too busy SMSing) that they were too lazy to do the same.

And play DS wtf. (And I drank two cans of Carlsberg that Andy generously brought along.)

We all decided to sleep at the living room – quite comfortable and cooling enough really.

By 2am the alcohol went right to my brain and I hit the sack like a dead log.

Waking up at around 9am the next day, took a shower, and then resumed playing DS wtf while the rest continued to sleep. Apparently during the night, Ding and Andy were battling mosquitoes that somehow surfaced at the 12th floor that they couldn’t sleep soundly, while I on the other hand had such a well-rested sleep that my dreams were rather vivid.

Still playing DS in the morning wtf.

Around 1pm we decided to pack our things up and leave for lunch. The lighthouse that I wanted to go to was too far away – plus we didn’t know where it was exactly – so we went to this Lucky restaurant for their famous large buns with carry, according to Ding.

Damn mouth-watering – this huge lump of bun was cut nicely into the shape of flower petals, and in it was chicken curry. The curry was at the right mix of spiciness that dipping pieces of bread into it and chomping on them was just nice – tasty even – for a guy who can’t stand spicy food like me.

At Lucky King Bun – the ‘small’ bun we ordered was RM15. We also ordered fried rice to go with it.

Thus began another one hour journey back to Subang – I was actually a little tired and sleepy at one point, and when we arrived at Fangki’s house to pick him up, Andy switched places with me to drive. We then stopped by at Andy’s place for him to dump his things, and then made our way to Summit to catch a movie – Rambo. We had to wait for about an hour before the appointed time arrived, and at McD’s we also saw Ghavin.

Rambo was an alright action-packed really violent movie that touched upon the Karen genocide issue currently still ongoing in Myanmar – don’t know how true the atrocious tortures are, but if the movie was to be believed, such despicable, cowardly acts are still occurring as we speak. Funny that the world at large is doing nothing about it while we are entertained with phrases like “Prime Minister so-and-so strong condemns the act..” when an outrageous event happened – like the fairly recent protesting monks that took it to the streets, which the military junta reacted harshly against them. And then that’s about it – all talk and no action – and a month later the world forgot that the monks ever rallied on the streets, those sanctions that were called upon were nothing but customary candy-laced speeches that hardly ever materialised.

But we, the onlookers, what can we really do – when the rest of the more powerful and influential world leaders have ignored the plights of a tribe who surely couldn’t be very much worth their time?

But I digress. Anyway we went back home at around 6.30pm.

Our PD trip was certainly an odd one as we didn’t even step onto the beach despite it being a few steps away from the apartment’s guard house – but hey it did break the stagnant monotony that was slowly creeping into our lives, and it did at least made me look forward to something other than homework, group assignments, and exams. And hanging out with my close buddies is a plus point anytime.
