Prada-wearing dragons and tigers

For the past few days I’ve been going outoutout.

On Thursday, Andy, Yen, and I were supposed to eat lunch at Shawn’s TCPJ but Shawn cancelled us as they were going to serve VIPs instead. We went to 1 Utama by Andy’s car, using a shortcut of some sort that Yen led us, bought our 2.40pm tickets to The Devil Wears Prada (which Yen treated us to) and ate at Chilli’s which completely filled us.

It was my first time entering 1U’s GSC, which had a new, modern feel to it, with their toilets having these rather unique slanting ‘basins’. The movie was humorous - loved Meryl Streep’s acting as the cruel, heartless boss - and littered with tons of jibberish fashion lingo (such as names like Valentino, Tom Ford, etc) that Yen who was sitting next to me had to explain.

We reached home at about 6pm.

On Friday, because I have absolutely nothing better to do and felt that I shouldn’t waste my time rotting at home, I went with Yen and Andy to SS2 where they had their facial at a private home.

The operation in action.

It was quite a sight as Andy endured the two hour long torture procedure which looked every bit painful. We reached there in the morning at about 10am, and after they were done with their facials, we went to the nearby KFC to eat after managing to snap up a parking space.

Reached home at 5pm plus where Andy had to scurry off to do a minor surgery to remove his wisdom tooth. Ouch.

Went out again at night to DotA/CS for 2 hours with Heng, WH, FC, and Daniel at the USJ 8 cybercafe, after which WH went back, I picked up Esther, and we went to Tanjung for mamak till almost 1am or so.

Yesterday, at about 9pm I went to Yen’s house with FC, and in a separate car, Kai Tzin, Suet, and Ding to watch some movies. I didn’t expect to watch more than two movies, but we finally went with 3 of the DVDs Yen bought: Take the Lead, Dragon Tiger Gate, and Shinobi.

Take the Lead is entertaining, solely because of the dances ranging from the rumba and the tango to the waltz, and the plot was, well, alright. Dragon Tiger Gate has very fanciful special effects and whatnot, and I don’t know if the comic book is like this, but the story sucks, to the point that each of us was trying to guess what would happen next, and most of the time we were right. Like how Suet was guessing, “Wah, if that guy is called Dragon, the other one Tiger, then the other guy must be Leopard lah.”

...AND WTF at the end of the movie she was right!!

Shinobi was a very nice watch, a Japanese movie (duh) about two conflicting clans of the shinobi fighting against one another, not knowing that their leaders had fallen in love with each other (um, typical plot you think? not! It’s quite unpredictable). Each of the 5 warriors selected from each clan have superpowers (double duh), which was even entertaining to watch, even though they may not be shooting off at every point in the scene, which was a tad bit sad.

As with almost all Japanese movies, nobody lives happily ever after. :(

The four of us (Suet was fetched back after the 2nd movie) headed to Tanjung for a bite/drink, then went back at 3.30am. @__@

I’m finding my friends and I injected with regular doses of DotA, which is really ironic because much earlier, we have stood over other DotA players in cybercafes, shaking our heads because we thought they were playing a rather pointless game. That, plus we’ve heard all the horror stories of DotA and how much money they spent over it and how grades started to decline, etcetc.

I have just finished a DotA session with FC and Ding over Hamachi.
