22 Jun 2005 3:16 pmI don’t know whether to cry or to wince. Jon and I recently lost USD$550 plus when Google Adsense terminated our account with the words “account denied” (ironic I’m using their blogging service too, as well as their search engine). Nope, they refused to use “banned”, “terminated” and the word “denied” bear such vague meanings, but I know it’s impossible to fight back against them. Who am I anyway? A teeny little teenage kid in some country where they probably still think we live in wooden huts, against a huge multi-billion corporation.
USD550 is probably less than 0.00000000000000000000001% of the amount they make quarterly anyway.
And nope, neither Jon and I did anything wrong against their terms. “Fraudulent clicks” indeed -- we’re such honest people and it’s almost insulting for them to use such words against us.
Bah.
I’m letting go alright, and surprisingly I’m letting the money go far easier than I thought. I’m the really kiamsiap type… oh well. Don’t wanna talk about it.
I recall vaguely there’s some saying of some kind, that to gain something you have to lose something. And today, I gain at least two things:
1) I was staying up to quite late yesterday, and it was about 1am while I perused my Add Maths notes. Then what came through the radio station was the DJ saying it’s the “cue to call” etcetc and I tried my luck. On my third try, I got through! O_O Voila, I didn’t even know what I’m winning!
I wanted to win the Green Day Special Edition version of their album American Idiot, but instead, I got 4 passes to watch “Unleashed” at TGV KLCC (darned far away). In fact, I have no inkling what the movie is about, and who acts in it ‘cept for Jet Li as the name’s the password.
“Hitz.fm [insert some fast introductory talk here] activated by Hotlink! [Insert more fast talk], now it’s time to give your password!”
- Er.. Jet Li. couldn’t hear my own voice ‘cause of echoes
“Jet Li?”
- Yeah.
“Correct! [Insert more talk, movie details etc which I couldn’t catch], collect your movie passes at TGV KLCC!
- Thank you!
This is where he stops the recording and asked for my name, IC, house address, phone number. I couldn’t remember what else he said as I was pretty euphoric to actually win something, but I realised:
- from the website, “Do that, and you?ll win 4 passes to hitz.fm?s special preview of ?Unleashed? this June 28, Tuesday at 9pm, TGV KLCC.”
- which doesn’t sound good. Tuesday. Exams. NO!
- which in the end, I probably didn’t actually win anything except to hear me mumbling over the radio - priceless.
:( I don’t think I can go really, so if anyone wants the tix, go right ahead and take it from me. Though I have no idea when it’s arriving, or I have to go there personally to redeem the passes.
2) On a lighter note, I managed to slot in the darned contact lenses in my eyes and this is the first time I’M TOUCHING MY EYEBALLS! shudders
Strangely, the eyeball felt hard-ish, not jelly-like as I had expected >__> Took me a while to slot in the left lens, and took me even longer to take ‘em out after tuition. Argh.
Oh, and today’s Physics sucked. Thought I was the stupid one when I boggled myself over the first question. In the end, turns out everyone else thought the same thing, so either the question is tough or we’re equally stupid. :)
Add Maths rocks.

Yo! :D
Haha..to be frank, what drives me to continue HS was because of the moolah I get in return! (through ads)
Now I’m scouting for other ad services, but if can’t find a good one..I’ll kinda give it up >___>
