23 Dec 2006 3:20 pmThe irony in that wishlist I presented to the lot of you on Wednesday was, the next (Thursday) morning, my Motorola E398 went bonkers.
So I had the usual morning routine of waking up, eating breakfast, and take another short nap of usually about 30 minutes long (or longer). I am usually awakened by the incessant screams of the alarm from my handphone, but when I am not usually awakened by these sounds, I very rarely ever needed screams from downstairs (either my mum’s or my housekeeper’s).
That Thursday was one of those rarer days.
So I woke up to their screams that Andy was already here, and I was rudely jolted back from my sweet dreams to reality. I spun around to face my handphone lying on my bed, only to find “8.15 AM” staring back at me. 8 a.m. was when my class was due to start, btw.
I immediately jumped off my bed and while scrambling for new clothes to change into, I jogged my phone and found out that there were 3 missed calls and an SMS from Andy, all which were unattended. I tried phoning him, and when it was connected, I couldn’t hear a bloody sound at all. Funny thing was, when the balance SMS was sent to me from DiGi, there wasn’t any ringtone at all to indicate them.
I grew suspicious at this odd development and headed straight to Andy’s Waja anyway, lugging my usual briefcase-like bag along. I turned off the phone, and hung onto the power button again to turn it back on.
I waited.
And waited.
For 20 millennia.
I stared blankly at the blank screen, the reflection of my shocked face in view. I tapped, whacked, banged the poor black brick and nothing whizzed into life like it was supposed to. It was then I realised that my phone was dead. Literally, I’m afraid.
Instead of weeping at his demise, a tiny joy roused inside me as I really wanted to get a new phone anyway. I was a little sad because with this sudden death, I was left little choice but to say goodbye to the contacts I have accumulated throughout my 2-3 year usage of my phone, as well as my wacky ringtones, and um, some minor photos which I’m pretty sure I had backuped already anyway.
I’m beginning to wonder if my wishlist I shoddily created in a quick 5 minutes was at work to cast its magic.
Blabla long story cut short, I finally went to Esther’s recommended shop at Subang Parade called Access Mobile which offers me the cheapest Sony Ericsson P990i compared to the others around. Thing was, when I returned to that shop with my parents, they quoted me RM100 extra than the previous quotation (RM2100), and said “Oh just now my colleague quoted wrongly, cannot be that cheap blahblahiamgivingexcusesblah” and finally bargained the price down till RM2150 with a free screen protector.
So I went on Friday (yesterday) to get the phone with Andy, Chai Huey, and Vick Kee, after our Moral presentation at about 5pm. So I withdrew money from ATM and passed the money to Michelle, the shopkeeper.
And.. and…

ZOMG my darling darling Roxel(c). k he was originally named ‘Saigo’ but I already had a dead Saigo phone, and a Saigoheiki wireless network, and a Saigoheiki Wii, so I figured a fugly function-wise perfect phone needs a better (male) name.
Michelle insisted that I get a 256MB Memory Stick Pro Duo for RM120, then Andy joked that she should offer it for RM100, which after my insistence of not purchasing that overpriced shit, finally gave me the price of RM100.
Was I that stupid to agree to purchasing that?
Ye.. No!!
(So I went online and lo and behold after some research there’s actually a fake 2GB MSPD selling for RM100+ heh. God knows if the memory card she offered was original or not.)
My right thumb is actually aching right now.. dunno due to overuse of mouse (was busy with a HS project I’m still unfinished with at the moment) or what. It aches to type too.
So I won’t elaborate too much except that I had fun spending hours and HOURS trying out my phone’s features, because I was bombarded by the zillions of functions it have that I didn’‘t even know how to save a contact I typed out. -__- (In the beginning lah.)
OH and at the most, um.. ironic coincidence ever, I found my DS again. Right after my posted my wishlist on Wednesday. O_O
I was looking all over for my lost/misplaced contact lens container, and my kakak found the DS falling on its side at the side of my bed, probably bloody dusty after all the unused weeks heh. Thank god we don’t have to fork out extra to get myself a new DS. :D
Went for mamak yesterday with Heng, Suet, Esther, Jess, Andy, Sarah, and Jon. 6 people squeezed in my car (Heng and Suet went at first to Tanjung on their own), and on the way back at 1am, a total of 7 did that.
Also went to Pyramid today with Shawn and Andy, where we met up with Andrew. Andy was noticeable tired, looking as if he could drop down dead at any moment due to him being sick, but we did have outrageous conversations involving Andy doing a little naughty exchange at Parkson’s Renoma *cough*.
Oh and since we parked at the hotel, on the way to Pyramid, we spotted this:

Daniel marries Esther. LOL.
We also spotted a Jessica-wannabe picture doing the most goosebump-inducing KAWAIIII pose at the moving-out Quiksilver store. Bloody employee stopped me from taking a picture of a wall, heh. I don’t know what a painted Jessica-wannabe is worth to them.. so yeah can’t post the pic here because I don’t have it.
Walked around.. lepaked at Pyramid.. lepaked further at Shawn’s house for a bit while waiting for him to change his clothes and do a quick shower, then I reached home at nearly 7pm, which Andy then sent Shawn to work.
OK the joint of my thumb seriously paining now. Any ideas how to um, relieve the pain/cure it? Other than the obvious use less computer.
