18 May 2005 3:05 pmSeems like I’m going on a three-day break for blogging lately. Been busy throughout the week (what with the release of the new map Ossyria on GMS, there’s simply too many things to update, plus school-related workload is bogging me down a whole lot).
Monday: stayed back for a short practice for today’s audition (more on that later), and boy, Fatin sang Belaian Jiwa in a tear-inducing, emotional, heart-wrecking fashion (at least, to me) that I believe it’s the best rendition of the song I’ve ever heard. MUCH better than its original singer, by Carefree in 1979, which simply killed the melancholic essence of the song.
Tuesday: busy. Tuesdays are now known as the Science Day, as Bio, Physics and Chem are clumped today in a single day that I don’t think my brain can handle that much stress in a day. Physics tuition at night.
Wednesday (today):
Fatin was apparently sick, so she didn’t come to school and the 2pm audition was attended by Jon and I only, along with Atiqah and Rasyid from another band. Since we can practically do nuts without our lead singer, went back home at 2.25pm.
Ate lunch, phoned HL but his mum said he’s in the bathroom, was promptly phoned back seconds later saying I have to go to his house “now” if I want to take his transport to bowling at Summit, rushed my shower, banged my elbow on my bed while opening my cabinet (and bled), and ran all the way to HL’s house, sweating like a pig under the hot sun.
Bowling was mediocre as we played nonchalantly, with Shawn, HL and me in Lane 6 and the air-conditioner was not working. ~___~ Got ourselves Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith tickets for tomorrow at 6.20pm… and it was fully booked even. =.=” Six rows from the front, right behind the bar-staircase thingy, and one of us (HL, Andy, Kai Tzin, me) will have to be separated by this guy who booked seat 13 (ours: 12, 14, 15, 16) – or negotiate with him.
So Shawn, Wai Hong and I were acting all dreamy and crazed up with our 1000 points worth of ice-cream wrappers collected from dustbins around our school (sad, desperate people we must have looked like >_> it even sounded pathetic when Shawn mentioned to the wrapper-exchange-guy that we bersusah-payah find the wrappers from the rubbish bins ~__~) while we were eating/drinking at Yao Fatt, Summit..then walked over to Giant and went with our prized 1000 points worth of wrappers and exchanged them for 5 scratchcards.
And we won instant prizes! 5 bottles of shampoo which we probably won’t use! 3 Sunsilks, 2 Doves (Shawn persuaded him to give him an extra Dove when we have 4 Sunsilks).
It was hilarious especially when Shawn looked disappointed with the outcome… I actually harboured hopes that we can actually win a telly or a mini hi-fi or something. >_> Or RM100,000. Shawn was then mercilessly teased XD
After tuition, had the usual yamcha at Syed Ariff..and we talked about both our family probs. My mum’s having a dispute with her boss and being the great worrier she is, she talked about the possibility of resigning and thus we will be in for a great tight budget and lose all the luxuries of living.
When I reached home..she was slumping down on the sofa and looked like she had been crying and my heart shrank, thinking the worst was true. Turned out that the problem was resolved, and I don’t feel like knowing anything further. She wanted my opinion on the issue earlier in the morning while I was half awake, and I don’t really know what to say. Advising an adult is hardly my forte, when I can’t even advise my own peers, or myself.
Shawn just phoned me minutes ago asking me to SMS to Walls for the great big prize of RM100k. I did, wasted 7 SMSes at 50sen each (thanks to me SMSing erroneously earlier) and I don’t think it’s worth it. >_> Unless I actually WIN something.
I’ve never actually won anything in contests. Except for a couple of cinema tickets in an online competition last 5-7 years ago. And a Toy Soldier original soundtrack at almost a decade ago through the Kuntum magazine contest (it was a slogan contest, I won third prize I think, and I totally, absolutely loathe slogan contests of any sort..till now).
I don’t think I ever will win anything big. Wasting all that money SMSing to contribute to the winner’s eventual income.
