Ohai a nerd is me! This is me reading my self-written Econs notes while I was at the traffic lights – was on my way to my French class.

This Botswana girl in my college has remarkably large hips for such a thin body – I dunno if it’s a disease or what. =/

A long day in the college studying like a bunch o’ nerds deserves a break in the form of a bak kut teh dinner at night. =D Where else, but SS14’s Yu Ki? We walked across the street to the restaurant via the pedestrian crossing bridge.

Juman and me are not in the pictures.

Lunch at 11am when we came by Yiwen’s car: Ipoh hor fun at Restoran Kar Heong, located at 60, Jalan SS14/2. If you’re wondering why I know the address (I normally don’t bother with such details), that’s because we were each given a stamp card with its address on it, and when we’ve eaten there 10 times and get 10 stamps, we’d get a generous discount of… 10%. Great savings to be had when your meal costs RM4.50. ~____~
I was frankly quite sick of trying to revise my Macroeconomics 2 as I felt that I’ve already read enough, and the exam only starts at 1.45pm – so after lunch I was feeling a little restless. When the exam was due to begin, it was then I was beginning to feel a tad bit excited as the toughest paper among all my subjects this semester was going to be done and over with, but just a few minutes before the exam begin, Kenneth began telling me more information related to the Post-Keynesian model and I decided to skip that question as I wasn’t so sure what I prepared was correct anymore. >_>
On opening the exam paper during our reading time, I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear because the questions were similar, if not the mostly the same, as the questions for last year’s paper – and most of us have been preparing for it. So huzzah, no problems there.

At 5pm, we went to have dinner at the rojak stall at SS15 run by the two brothers. =D We initially wanted to go to Pan’s Bakery, but then we spotted the rojak stall and I was like, LET’S EAT ROJAK!!
For RM3.60 (it was initially RM3.30 or around there, but I decided to add more of them coconut thingies), it was incredibly filling – this is also after the girls couldn’t finish their food and dumped some on my plate lol.

Kenneth snapped this as he doesn’t like to eat rojak.

The four of us who ate – Rebecca drove us here.

My Law of Investment paper in the morning was awful – if you’d also overlook the fact that I had to rush to the toilet to pangsai just minutes before we were allowed to enter the exam venue. -_-
Rant about the exam here will be copy+pasted from a topic I posted on KGB – it’s long and dreary if you’ve never taken any Law subjects, so be forewarned:
Background: There’s a Malaysian Company Law course which I’ve decided to skip purely because it’s an elective, and so this semester, I signed up for my Law of Investments and Financial Markets course as it’s a core subject.Topics include:
Topic 1 – Regulatory bodies in Malaysia
Topics 2-4 – Licensing of financial service providers (in Australia)
Topic 5 – Managed Investment Scheme
Topic 6 – Wills
Topic 7 – Investment in Real Property
Topic 8 – Investment in Equities (Corporate Governance, etc)
Topic 9 – Company Structures (sole proprietor, partnerships, public companies (listed or unlisted), etc)
Topic 10 – Bankruptcy and InsolvencyI’m missing a topic here ‘cause I can’t remember what it is now, but anyway..
So, last week during our study break, I came to college quite regularly to utilise the library to study, and when I bumped into my Law of Investment lecturer, she told us that this time the questions were changed drastically and it’s going to be very tough. How tough, I wasn’t sure then, but she’d only say that the questions revolve around the last few topics pertaining to companies.
And lo and behold, Q1 was based on Topic 1, while the other 3 questions were all company law-related questions as they were case studies on insolvency, company structures, corporate governance, etc. :( My entire four months in this subject have almost gone to waste as our lecturer had emphasised a lot on the middle topics (Topics 2-8) but less emphasis was given on the last few chapters.
After the exam, she told us that our course coordinator in Melbourne had, for some reason, given the task of drawing up the question paper to the Company Law lecturer. Brilliant. I’d imagine she wouldn’t have that much knowledge in investment-related laws, hence the odd skew towards company law questions. :((( I didn’t have Company Law background at all so I found it tremendously difficult, while the majority of my classmates had already taken that subject. :/ She told us not to worry, because Mary (the course coordinator for our subject) would mark it a little leniently.
Also, this is an open book paper.
I’m just a bit miffed – because I desperately need to pass this subject if I were to be allowed to transfer to Melbourne in 2 months, never mind the fact that I had hoped to at least score on this subject.
All that studying didn’t go to waste though. After learning the topic about Wills and their importance (also learned about this from another subject this sem, Intro to Financial Planning), I asked my parents if they have Wills and they told me no…
>_>
Poor Weng Whye looked quite depressed after the exams as he didn’t answer 2 questions out of 4. =/

At Nando’s, Subang Parade. Rebecca had a sudden craving for it, and so the 6 of us (including Yiwen) went in Yiwen’s car.

My 1/4 chicken with some Mediterranean Rice and Old Chips (aka french fries).
Also after we ordered our food, I went over to Speedy to look for Talentime’s soundtrack, and finally found it at Rock Corner! And I got it for RM26.90. :D

The three of us eating – we also ordered two bottomless drinks and shared it among the 6 of us hahaha.
I only had less than 4 hours of sleep the night before, so when I got back from Subang Parade, I went online in the library for a while before taking a 30-minute power nap – that recharged me enough to function well till night, although I didn’t exactly studied much since two of my toughest papers were done, leaving two more somewhat mediocre ones to go, and I really wasn’t that in the mood to revise.
We went to Burger King, SS15 at night – both Yen Yee and I went in Rebecca’s car, while Sam, Ken, Johann, Weng Whye, and Kah Kit were in another car. I realised then that I was spending way too much on food with my collegemates – RM50 this week alone ~_____~ – so I merely ordered the French Chicken burger ala-carte and drank water from the bottle I brought along. In fact, I’ve been doing the carry-own-water along since the past few weeks, and a few of my collmates did the same thing too.
My bro picked me up from college at 8.20pm, and on reaching home, I got ready again to leave for my one-hour Chinese class. We started off talking, and talked we did for about 40 minutes on various things – the movie I’ve watched recently, the art movie she watched which she felt shouldn’t win the best film or something at some art movie (I then strongly urged her to watch Sell Out!), and finally, asked some questions from my HSK workbook – then she asked, as this was the last class if I wanted to continue, and I told her I’d like to take a break.
We then proceeded to talk more about my upcoming transfer to Melbourne, where she advised me a few things, asked me to take care of my own health, and that was it – the last conversation with my Chinese teacher whom I’ve been studying with for 2 years, and she wished me all the best. I wished we could talk more though, but my mind was feeling rather stretched out.
Two papers to go. These days, my mind often drifted to Melbourne and its bleak winter.
